Okay, last question first: in the south, it's Val Royeaux. If you're human and look like you're noble or wealthy, you'll do alright. Otherwise, they'll treat you like shit. Total snobs, the lot of them.

As for spirits...eh, I try to keep them at arm's length. Not all of them are malicious assholes, but none of them are 'safe'. They don't think like us, don't exist like us, and that gap is pretty important when it comes to interacting with them. People forget that, and it ends badly.

The food is usually delicious, at least. They have food carts with all sorts of treats. It almost makes up for all the ruffles and masks.

No one's told you about the Inquisition's goal yet? We're trying to stop an ancient asshole magister from making everything go to shit. He wants to headbutt his way into the Fade to make himself a god or something, and the last time he did that, it almost unraveled the world. So, we're not keen on him doing it again. There's a lot of other things in play, but when you come down to the bare bones of it all, that's what we're here for.

Thing is, it's not as fun and easy as it sounds, since he pulled that stunt three years ago and we've yet to bring him down. It'll happen -it has to, or we're all fucked- but be prepared for a long haul.

Spirit to me is just a ghost. Like, boo, motherfucker. The dearly departed clinging to the remnants of this plane of existence. Fairy is like...pretty princess Tinkerbell little sparkly magical girl with wings. Alternately fae stuff that if you're, like, Irish or whatever you don't fuck around with.
