Good morning, Inquisition.

( It’s early afternoon, easily. She sounds very relaxed, and it would not be inaccurate to imagine her reclining on a sea of cushions and eating chocolate. Her accent is distinctly Antivan, and probably should be accompanied by a montage of vineyards and orange blossom. It’s just the kind of vibe she gives off. )

I wanted to apologise for any inconvenience caused the last few days by my arrival; the family estate in Hightown was not yet ready to receive me, it seems, and so there has been some to-ing and fro-ing. I understand one of the birds caused a little confusion.

( It trapped Finch in a cupboard. ) Please rest assured all the flamingos have been moved for their safety.

( And the safety of the Inquisition. )

I am Lady Marisol of the Houses Vivas and de la Nieve, Asturias and Hierro. ( Merchant Princes, nobility, pirates. You may remember her from such mage empowerment videos as GO REBELS GO and IT’S NOT SMUGGLING, IT’S SPECIALISED TRADE. ) You know, I had planned to be here a little sooner, but the weather in Antiva was so fine. I couldn’t bring much winter sunshine with me, but the Inquisition’s supplies have been replenished a little.

So! Is anyone here from the Rialto Circle? And can anyone explain why it is I should bring ships and staff to an Inquisition that took to destroying the Necropolis? I have some aunts and uncles who are very upset about it.

( She, personally, does not sound seriously concerned, but apparently she doesn’t sound seriously concerned about anything. )

SENDER: Mal Draco
RECIPIENT: Everyone
WHAT: Brooding question of ethics.
WHEN: Beginning of Wintermarch
WHERE: Her and Carolus's room in the Gallows
NOTES: She's an angry goth kid. She curses like one.

Okay so ... some of you are big ... moral people and heroes and all that rot. A question for you. If you, say, have some pull with some people and that might help ... things, but it's dealing directly with a family that you have ... not had the best relationship with, do you do the thing that might help even though it's going to put you back in with a family who pretty much abandoned you from day one?

[Great. Now ... she's angry rambling. Ugh.]

Anyways - if - anyone needs or wants some artwork for their room, house, hovel, whatever - when I'm not trying to help with the Veil stuff, I can create murals for you. Price is trade for stuff I can use for painting supplies, that kind of thing.

Yeah. Okay. Bye.

FORM: Crystal.
SENDER: Galatea
RECIPIENT: All y'all.
WHAT: A PLEA FOR ASSISTANCE.
WHEN: Current.
WHERE: The Gallows.
NOTES: The letters are from traumatised mage kids.

( The voice over the crystals is low, musical and Orlesian in accent; the kind of accent you find out in the sticks, a mixture of different regions and none of them terribly polished. )

Hallo, strangers, ( all friendliness, ) I am very new here so maybe I don't know who to ask, exactly- you have lots of people who know all about the books, I would like to borrow one! A little. ( slyly: ) I'll return you in good condition. You read to me some letters, you write down my reply for me, and in return -

We can work something out, no?

11 December 2017 @ 06:28 pm
FORM: Crystal message.
SENDER: Gwenaëlle Vauquelin
RECIPIENT: Everyone
WHAT: Just some normal questions asked casually
WHEN: Shortly before the 16th
WHERE: Kirkwall
NOTES: Dysfunctional family is disturbing, film at eleven

( Gwenaëlle has been drinking, so this is already going well. In point of fact, judging by what can be heard over the crystal - sloshing, swallowing, the sound of motion, of items being picked up and put down and possibly a window being opened? - she may in fact be drinking right now. Some of those near the docks or working in the city today may have seen an overladen delivery taken from an Orlesian merchant vessel up towards Hightown; quite possibly someone is aware it was intended for Lady Vauquelin. Of course, that presupposes anyone might pay attention, which well they might not-

anyway, the point is. Her voice is conversational, in that deceptive way that suggests there are right and wrong answers to questions,
    )

How much would it take, do you think, to buy your love.

( Cool so this is a great start. )

Do you think there's a number figure in there? Or maybe some very specific thing, where if someone bought that for you, you'd just-

( She makes a sound. Somewhere in the distance, something smashes. )

You'd just forgive them. Oh, forget all those things you did, I love this pretty bracelet. What do you think? Is that possible?

Just send me a message if you're interested.

FORM: crystal
SENDER: Herian Amsel
RECIPIENT: all the Inquisiton
WHAT: sup
WHEN: whatever today might wind up being in fair Thedas.
WHERE: Kirkwall
NOTES: Hello! So Herian's background has some dark themes,
and she has some pretty harsh attitudes about mages, the Dalish, and pretty much anything that takes her fancy. I've got an opt out post if there's anything you want me to avoid touching on.

I fear it had been overlong since last we spoke, Inquisition.

( Crisply spoken words, the touch of Starkhaven shaping each sound. )

For those not yet known to me: I am Herian Amsel, Knight Enchanter of the White Spire. For those better acquainted with me, I apologise for my abrupt absence. My orders bid me elsewhere.

( ... and that's all she has to say about that, smoothly moving on. )

I hope the seasons and the Free Marches have not treated you poorly. However, I am bound to lament our residence in any portion of them that is not Starkhaven.

( There is just the faintest touch of humour, maybe. Possibly. You probably imagined it. )

Maker willing, Kirkwall will treat you all with kindness.

SENDER: Araceli Bonaventura
RECIPIENT: Everyone
WHAT: Offering advanced parkour lessons and trying to organise a shindig
WHEN: Now
WHERE: Kirkwall
NOTES: Threadjacking encouraged. A few notices have been left around the Gallows to sign-up for lessons.

Inquisition, now that we're settled in Kirkwall I come to you with two very exciting propositions. As some of you know, I taught how to climb and run the walls and battlements of Skyhold, how to fall from such heights safely but alas this was not as it was at home when Skyhold was so contained. But here we are in Kirkwall! I can truly teach you how to leap from building to building if your desire and to dive into the waters from buildings and from the rigging of a ship. Of course, we start small so as not to injure your good self but if that prospect sounds intriguing, please come find me. I am Araceli Bonaventura, at your service. I'm either working at the Gallows or by the docks or you might happen to look up.

The second is a thing to celebrate and I could say that I do it as leader of the naval projects but truly? I do it as someone who loves cooking and seafood, to finally be back by the water after so long removed from it. Tell me, Inquisition, what are your favourite seafood dishes? Your favourite meals from Antiva or Rivain or places such as that? Because I thought it might be an idea to have a cookout by the waves towards the end of the month, say, the twenty-second? Everyone is welcome if they are a fan of good food and good times among friends.

[Also it's her birthday but since they don't really do birthdays that way back home, what better thing to do than have a fun time with people that have all certainly earned it?]

SENDER: Jim Kirk
RECIPIENT: Anyone and everyone
WHAT: Kirk has gotten an assignment in the Research division and he needs some third party help
WHEN: Through Justinian
WHERE: Gallows
NOTES: Probably some innuendo

Hello everyone, this is Jim Kirk speaking.

I'm going to be conducting some experiments on leather samples I have been provided and I need help from anyone so inclined. I could use the help of anyone strong and can swing weapons, and also the help of several mages with varying expertise - fire, ice, that sort of thing.

I'm willing to work out a compensation for your time. Please contact me with your availability and your skills if you're interested.

SENDER: Waver Velvet
RECIPIENT: Anyone with access
WHAT: Start of an assignment
WHEN: Right now
WHERE: Gallows
NOTES: Potential mention of blood magic in comments

If any of you were inclined or in need of hiding books within the Gallows itself, where would you end up storing them?

[Waver's voice and demeanor are straight forward and without artifice. There's a hint of irritation as he continues to speak.]

It seems that there are a number of missing books from the library removed at some point prior to the Inquisition's move-in, and finding them would be useful, even if they're never used again.

FORM: Sending Crystal
SENDER: Bethany Hawke nee Darton
RECIPIENT: All of the Inquisition
WHAT: Bethany's looking for a few book nerds.
WHEN: Set before Bethany heads off to the Warden Fortress, right after this
WHERE: The Gallows
NOTES: The only warning is nerds All the nerds.

Hello Inquisition!

[Here is your cheerful sunshine Warden, everyone.]

I am wondering if I could perhaps borrow some hands, and eyes, and eager minds to help me go through the basements of the Kirkwall Library? There is a chance that we might be able to get our hands on some ancient Tevinter texts, and that would help our research of Corypheus immensely. I'm looking for those who don't mind spending a few afternoons going through volumes of history, of magic and of other topics to perhaps find some hidden gems.

I can't offer much money, I'm sorry, for those looking for coin but! I will buy all the drinks at the Hanged Man later on!

So who is interested?
