    ( Gwenaëlle has been drinking, so this is already going well. In point of fact, judging by what can be heard over the crystal - sloshing, swallowing, the sound of motion, of items being picked up and put down and possibly a window being opened? - she may in fact be drinking right now. Some of those near the docks or working in the city today may have seen an overladen delivery taken from an Orlesian merchant vessel up towards Hightown; quite possibly someone is aware it was intended for Lady Vauquelin. Of course, that presupposes anyone might pay attention, which well they might not-

    anyway, the point is. Her voice is conversational, in that deceptive way that suggests there are right and wrong answers to questions,
    )

    How much would it take, do you think, to buy your love.

    ( Cool so this is a great start. )

    Do you think there's a number figure in there? Or maybe some very specific thing, where if someone bought that for you, you'd just-

    ( She makes a sound. Somewhere in the distance, something smashes. )

    You'd just forgive them. Oh, forget all those things you did, I love this pretty bracelet. What do you think? Is that possible?

[ Guess what time it is? It’s time for Incredibly Orlesian accents. ]

Inquisition, we were hoping you might settle a debate for us. We cannot decide amongst ourselves whether the return of dragons to Thedas is beneficial or whether they should be stamped out again as quickly as possible. It is easy enough to agree not to kill someone’s infant pet, of course, but what of the larger ones?

The large and established dragons. The dragons that have lived lives bravely, that have existed long before many of our number were even born. These noble beasts, while brutal, surely deserve a fate more than a trophy upon the mantle of some-- hunter. Have they caused terror? Yes, of course. But show me a man who has not caused some terror to someone. At least a man has impulse. A man can be taught. A dragon should be killed, only for living as his nature guides him to live? I think not.

On the other hand: entire villages set aflame.

You both exaggerate: bravely, Valentine? Please, you cannot argue it is only its nature and then call it brave! One or the other, only. And so few villages, really, Jeannot, when weighed against the wealth of art and literature that dragons have inspired--think of their place in our history! Think of all that would be changed had some ancient Orlesians thought as you do and decided to wipe dragons from existence. What is a few livestock here and there when compared with our very civilization? A sacrifice, yes, but it seems to me a small price to pay, in the grand accounting of things.

[ So there you have it, and an invitation (or order, or strong suggestion): ]

Discuss.
