Inquisition, now that we're settled in Kirkwall I come to you with two very exciting propositions. As some of you know, I taught how to climb and run the walls and battlements of Skyhold, how to fall from such heights safely but alas this was not as it was at home when Skyhold was so contained. But here we are in Kirkwall! I can truly teach you how to leap from building to building if your desire and to dive into the waters from buildings and from the rigging of a ship. Of course, we start small so as not to injure your good self but if that prospect sounds intriguing, please come find me. I am Araceli Bonaventura, at your service. I'm either working at the Gallows or by the docks or you might happen to look up.

The second is a thing to celebrate and I could say that I do it as leader of the naval projects but truly? I do it as someone who loves cooking and seafood, to finally be back by the water after so long removed from it. Tell me, Inquisition, what are your favourite seafood dishes? Your favourite meals from Antiva or Rivain or places such as that? Because I thought it might be an idea to have a cookout by the waves towards the end of the month, say, the twenty-second? Everyone is welcome if they are a fan of good food and good times among friends.

[Also it's her birthday but since they don't really do birthdays that way back home, what better thing to do than have a fun time with people that have all certainly earned it?]

I would be interested in such lessons - I would not necessarily need to start quite so small, if you would not mind the lend of a horse for me to demonstrate why.

I don't have a horse but I can probably get one. [Nuggalopes and parkour probably aren't ever going to mix.] No one's done any tricks with a horse yet.

I don't think I'm qualified for jumping off of buildings, but seafood is the best. I mean, I haven't had enough Antivan food to have a specific opinion, but I'm definitely in to find out.

Jumping between, climbing down, sliding down, cutting through an open window or running between things that might be strung there - ropes, pulleys, washing lines. [The list could go on, she'll stop there.] Antivan food isn't too far from what I have at home, is there anything you like in particular?

I've a simple dish I learnt from an Antivan trader back a ways. All it needs is shrimp, a little veg, the right herbs, and some wine, but I near never get to bloody make it.

Then you absolutely must, I will do whatever I can to assist in making this dish. This is for all of us to enjoy and I love the cooking more than the eating sometimes.

You already know my weakness for paella, and especially how Tama makes it. I'll gladly help with that, too, but I only trust her or you to make it right.

There's more than one type of paella, we actually have fresh seafood here too. [Korrin you might have to smuggle other meat into the house because Araceli is content with seafood all of her days pretty much.] Oh sirena, you won't feel your fingers ever again when I'm done with you, there's so much chopping to be done...

[ Now that she's doing her best to avoid conflicts if she can. The little mage has several scars from encounters that weren't great, so she's adopting a more sneaky style to be of use to the Inquisition. ]

We absolutely must Ellana! You'd love it, it's very handy for people our size.

[You know, being funsized when pretty much everyone is bigger than you and often wielding a weapon bigger than you? Or firing arrows? Or slinging spells? Definitely come run with her Ellana.]

Wow, you can really do all of that? [Insert some kind of parkour joke here.] I mean, I can run and climb, but to jump between buildings? Sign me up!

If my friend Ignis was here, he could probably rattle off a ton of great seafood dishes. He could cook anything and make it delicious.

All that and more, nowhere I've been so far has buildings the height they do back home or the same design; my talents will fade to nothing if I don't keep them sharp. This is why I'm glad of the chance to teach more.

A shame he isn't here, I would love to meet others who share the same passion since so few people in Thedas even know how to season their food. Was there anything you liked that you can remember?

I can climb, but I could probably use some help on the... jumping across distances. The water also poses a problem, for me.

I've... also never had seafood.

That I can teach if you have the basics, as for the water what is it about it that's a problem?

[Or: how can water be a problem, she can't even actually process that thought to be honest.

My friend, you must try it, the bounty of the sea is of greater variety than that of the land, there are so many things you can do with it. You must come along and try as many things as you like!

Your lessons sound interesting.

For your other question, I was often fond of smoked fish. It was nothing truly special and more for preservation but it was a fine treat when I was young.

I can promise that no one has injured themselves so far since I started back in Skyhold.

We smoked it too for long journeys but depending on what was used, it could be a delicacy if it was a rare thing. It shouldn't be too difficult to get hold of some.

Orlais, of course — but we’ve a share of the sea ourselves, no? I have always been partial to fried fish bones. How did you acquire such curious skills?

[ sure sounds like BREAKING IN PLACES but you know, it takes all sorts ]

Orlais charges a fortune for their seasonings and spices. [Orlais also can't cook itself out of a wet paper bag but she's not going to be rude.] They have those here too? I didn't know if other places would use all the parts of a fish like that. As for my skills? I was a bold child who wouldn't sit still and we don't have streets as such as there are in Thedas. Rooftops are an easier way to get about.

Especially in my line of work.

What kind of pre-training would you advise for this leaping from building to building thing? I'm interested, but expect I have catching up to do first.

Usually I hope a person is decently fit and well but I can start from how to climb a small wall and how to fall properly as I did in Skyhold.

It's only good if you respect the fish - simple spices, some butter, a bit of lemon. Delicious.

But of course, everything is balance, what is the point in eating the fish if you try to mask that you're eating a fish.
