I don't exactly think any of us have much sway here. Fat lot of good a petition's going to do for the -Vigilant and the -Divine in the middle of a March.

Right. If anyone has filed formal paperwork that we'd have here on hand and would like it dug up or copied, let me know. While I'm not exactly keen on making a whole drawer on sensitive Order information, it might be prudent to keep everyone's relevant information somewhere all together for ease of access. If any further need arises. [And given the situation, he's kinda assuming that need is gonna arise.]

If anyone needs a hand or a mind or anything, help in writing a formal letter stating intentions one way or another, I'm happy to help. If anyone needs to go public with their support and intentions, I think that's a load of horse crap, but we can figure something out with that, too.

If anyone has fears of retribution-- [Hm. Mm. How does he want to phrase this...] Some leaders on staff are going to prove more sympathetic than others. I don't have to tell you all to be very careful about who you discuss the particulars of this situation with.

It might also become prudent to have an idea where our lyrium is coming from, for those that applies to.

A directive has been issued by the Knight-Vigilant of the Templar Order regarding their continued reconstitution. I've included the notification in full via our books for reference.

Those of the Order, past and present, make sure you declare your position to Riftwatch leadership as well as the Chantry. Spare us explaining your status on your behalf, or being informed without notice.

Not long after this curt notification, enchanted books will also include the following; ]

To Riftwatch leadership,

It is to our understanding that Riftwatch harbors several soldiers of the Templar Order, and it is in an official capacity that we alert you to a recent development in our efforts to reorganize.

Concerning the departure of several sects and individuals from the Templar Order since the disaster at the conclave, Knight-Vigilant Aubin Héroux hereby issues an ultimatum to those who have not yet returned to the Chantry’s fold: they may either re-pledge themselves to the Order’s service and return immediately, or forfeit its protection.

“Protection” in this case encompasses that which shields a working Templar from civilian rule of law, pursuit and persecution by rebel magi, or any consequence of wartime actions performed in the service of the Order.

Furthermore, any Templar who continues to abjure his duty is henceforth to be considered a deserter and, in the name of justice, his dossier and whereabouts may be granted to any organization of magi upon request.

In the event of a Templar bearing an anchor shard, they are given leave to remain with Riftwatch until the situation’s resolution, under the condition that they publicly make known their loyalty to the Order and intent to return to their duties.

[ There's a bit of a fumbling noise on the crystal, then the sound of puffing air. Whoever this is is blowing on it, maybe as some sort of test.

Then a voice - one with an accent that's probably unfamiliar to almost everyone here. This woman has a Dwarven accent, all broad vowels and lax consonants, but it's not quite the same as an Orzammar accent. Tevinters might possibly know it as the accent of a dwarf of the Ambassadoria. ]

I want to know. How many of you are doing all of this because you want things to go back to how they all used to be? Restoring order and stability and all of that. The status quo.

I am pleased to say that, thanks to our research department— specifically Strange and Cosima—, I have been cured of my…. malady. I have passed a month since my curing with no issue.

I can only hope for a second chance to make a better first inpression.

For those that do not know me, I am Tav, a druid and cleric, who splits his time between the infirmary and rebuilding our garden. And, speaking of our garden, if anyone needs any particular seeds collected or grown, feel free to let me know.

Just a reminder that any relevant books, documents, scrolls, tomes, diaries, glyphs, runes, letters, posters, maps, scribbles on the backs of napkins, and other stuff that has any importance to further our cause found in all of our eluvian ports of call should be brought to my attention. Bit of record keeping on my end, and then shuffled off to whoever it needs to go to. Or, if it isn't a matter of great import, I can give it back to you, after, for whatever you want.

If anyone else donates their entire life's worth of love letters to us again, do me a favor and shoot me full of arrows first.

If you're unsure of relevance, you can still bring it up to me to take a look at, but hopefully its use will jump out at you instead. Preferably you can leave them in the archivist's office, but I can be found in the library a good bit of time, too.

[There's a pause, like this is where he was going to end it, but then there's a little shuffle and his voice seems closer.]

Also, come to think of it, it might be nice to know who's fluent in what languages around here for translation's sake, if we need it.

What with the new faces recently, I’ve been working on the medical curriculum and refreshing the infirmary’s recordkeeping. It’s high time to establish some better-kept patient files.

To that end, we’ve provided a written questionnaire at the infirmary — thank you to Amsel for her neat penmanship — and I’d appreciate it if you could fill out a form for yourself and drop it off. The records will only be referenced by healers in the course of their duties, and otherwise locked away; your personal details will remain private. Having as much information as possible will only help the healers take care of you properly.

If you don’t read Trade or otherwise require assistance filling out the form, say as such and we can have someone sit with you. Any other questions, let me know.

Alright, Riftwatch, I assume I don't need to introduce myself,

( possibly because she hasn't been paying strict attention to recent arrivals, but she is certainly not herself a new face, )

but if you have somehow mistaken my accent for Alexandrie, this is Gwenaëlle Baudin, and if you haven't noticed my taking up the office, I am now your acting Captain of the Watch. ( because they are still pretending that dad might come back (with smokes) and that rowntree's appointment might be temporary. she has already begun studying nevarran, but she isn't all that optimistic about when she's going to need to know it by. ) I've started with inventorying our armoury, and as such I have a couple of requests to make of, primarily, those of you not in Forces. If you are in Forces, I need to know if you possess any personal weaponry of note that we should be taking into account. You can provide details by crystal, book or at my office. If you are not in Forces, I would like to know that, but disclosure is voluntary unless your division head decides to make it mandatory.

( yes, she checked with rowntree before announcing it's mandatory for forces. )

Further, if you are not in Forces, I'd like to have an overview of the combat readiness of our ( nerds ) general non-combatants and what their, your needs are. If you'd like particular training, or if you specifically wouldn't. If you're going to be particularly vulnerable in the sort of emergency we recently experienced, or if it'd be useful for me to be aware that you won't. Again, we can have these conversations by whatever means suits you.

And to be clear, I'm not assuming all diplomats and researchers need to be provided personal fainting couches, and you will not be considered clever for getting up in arms about having your toughness questioned. If you would like to be provided a personal fainting couch, ask the Seneschal.

It seems prudent, given the current situation, for us to publicly identify those who have been acting out of character. I can understand a desire for secrecy, to take any imposters by surprise, but the risk of one of our own being caught unawares seems much greater.

Who has been strange of late? And when did this change in behavior start?
