Whoever thinks knocking on the door is a good idea, will not leave unscathed next time!

(There is a strange light in his eyes - and if anyone knows of his father, they will recognize it immediately. Abort mission!)

I am on the cusp of making something spectacular and I do not need any interference. Do I make myself clear?

(What happened to the gentler Maedhros? Some might claim he has been swallowed by the flames of ambition.)

Which is why I told him we're not putting a dragon on any of the boats and why I'm getting the extra supplies!

Besides, he's the one who knows how to build the boats, and it keeps him occupied and less likely to cause trouble.

Why would you even want a dragon?! (Are you crazy? His tone doesn't leave much to the imagination.) While I appreciate the effort, do make sure he doesn't sail off without us, hm?

[seawanderer]

[He blinks, head tilting.] He's Elros?

[Maglor smiles though.] He knows I won't let him sail off alone.

[castintoflames]

He's being foolish. (He rolls his eyes.) Which means you will go with him and leave us stranded here!

[seawanderer]

He's a child, that's part of their job! You remember how we all were! [Are.

He pouts.] Nelyo! I won't leave you behind!

[castintoflames]

He is grown by the standards of Men. He should know better now that he has chosen that path. (Is he bitter about that? No... Not at all! Okay a little bit.)

How can I trust that?

[seawanderer]

He'll always be our child, even when he's wrinkled with white hair.

[The pout turns into a frown and some of his good mood ebbs.]

Because I won't do to you what you did to me.

But we cannot protect him from the world.

(They never could. That failing bites at him, tearing off pieces each time he thinks of it.)

...ah and there it is. I would be wholly deserving of it. You could consider it justice.

[seawanderer]

But I will do what I can while we are here.

[Maglor shrugs.] I could. But I will not. Will you trust my promise not to leave you behind?

[castintoflames]

And I am doing what I can while we are here.

(He turns back to his table.)

I am not fleeing to stop your progress. I trust you enough.

[seawanderer]

Of course you are, Nelyo. You are in the midst of making beauty.

...So...Since I'm just down the street...May I come in? Just for a moment?

[castintoflames]

It's not just - (He can explain better in person, so he nods sharply.) It's hotter than...well...you can imagine in here.

I will meet you outside.

[seawanderer]

The forge has to be hot for you to work.

[Maglor nods and is waiting outside a minute or so later.]

(Maedhros slips out, absently tying his hair back as he walks up to Maglor.)

I am making us superior weapons.

[seawanderer]

[He immediately steps in close and wraps his arms around his brother to snuggle trustingly close.]

They will come in handy. Thank you, Nelyo.

(He is fever hot and his heart is beating faster than usual. That is likely a state Maglor shares.)

I have suspended all other work for them. I know the swords that suit us and they will respond to our presences.

(His arm comes up belatedly to return the hold.)

[seawanderer]

[Fever hot, heart racing, unable to stay still? Oh yes. He's just as bad off as his brother. Thankfully he has more of their mother in him than their father.]

I don't think Elros and I will take long in building the boats. We could test the weapons when you're done? We haven't had a good spar in a while.

[castintoflames]

(Nerdanel's wisdom - her gentleness - has always been part of Maedhros too. But Fëanor's passion and ferocity is overwhelming those good traits. He cannot even imagine letting down his guard at the moment.)

These swords will withstand any spar. I feel I have much more time for...everything...now that I have foregone sleep.

[seawanderer]

[They all have their parents' ferocity and passion in varying degrees. Maglor doesn't seem to notice his brother's less affectionate than usual, but it also doesn't seem to bother him as long as he's not shoved away.

He smiles fiercely up at Maedhros.]

Sleep has been digging into too much of our time. Elros and I have been making a lot of progress too.

[castintoflames]

(The affection is reluctant - at first - but then a part of Maedhros seems to remember how good it feels. His brother is warm, whole and healthy. He hasn't been left behind. His arm is soon joined by his other arm and Maglor will find himself embraced properly.)

Maybe I should go see it.

[seawanderer]

[Maglor hums happily and leans against his brother.]

You should. We're making you and Finno one, and one for cousin Galadriel if she wants it.

[castintoflames]

Ah I think I angered her. Greatly. (Distantly, he knows he feels bad about that. But right now he can't bring himself to care.)

[seawanderer]

She intruded. Deal with it later, she is family.

[castintoflames]

I don't feel like dealing with it now, so that will have to suffice.
