(There is a strange light in his eyes - and if anyone knows of his father, they will recognize it immediately. Abort mission!)

(What happened to the gentler Maedhros? Some might claim he has been swallowed by the flames of ambition.)

She'll have to accept there are other important things than whatever you two argued over. And she gets upset. [And he's glad she can't hear this because he'd probably be dead already if she could.]

Kinslaying. It always comes back to kinslaying. (He sounds so very tired of the subject.) I'd rather rise above it and be treated like an Elf; not a monster.

[Maglor scowls and tightens his embrace.]

I would expect that from Thranduil more than her. I could try talking to her...?

...no. (Maedhros kisses the top of his head.) I was cruel. For that, I will apologize.

[seawanderer]

[The kiss to his head soothes him and he snuggles close again.]

Alright Nelyo.

[castintoflames]

(His sweet brother. Maedhros doesn't want to send him out to save his honor for any reason - especially not stupid ones that he himself causes.)

This is why I want to protect you.

[seawanderer]

[For his part, Maglor's just glad he doesn't always have to be alone. Only when he feels that's best, and when he knows Elros isn't about to go off and get himself into trouble.]

You do. And I can't wait to see the swords you're making!

(He pulls away and re-enters the Forge. Then, a few moments later, he comes back out, bearing a sword that lacks ornamentation. However the blade shines and it is deadly. Maedhros has focused his intent on the weapon, shaping it into a protector.)

[Maglor barely manages to keep himself from following, instead waits for his brother's return. Thankfully he doesn't have long to wait!

He draws in an admiring breath and reaches gentle hands out to touch the blade and sings a soft welcome.]

It is a handsome blade, Nelyo!

(The simplicity is beautiful to him. He doesn't need vast ornamentation - though he is planning on adding some.)

It's for you. If you carry it, it is like I am by your side - even if we are separated.

[seawanderer]

[The fever-bright burns fiercer and he smiles.]

I have always kept your memory close, even when we were apart. When you judge it done, it will never be far from my side.

(Maedhros returns the smile and he touches Maglor's cheek.)

Think of a name. You can call forth your power through song. Let this sword be a note or a lyric.

[He hums again and leans into the hand while he thinks.]

What do you think of Morelinde? [Because Nightengale.] Or Nurulire might be more appropriate. [Deathsong.]

(His thumb passes softly over his cheek.)

Appropriate, but I like the first better. When you speak of your Nightingale, I do not want its use to be immediately understood.

[seawanderer]

[His eyes slide shut, content and he smiles.]

Morelinde, then. Yes.

[castintoflames]

(Maedhros pulls him into a tight embrace.)

Morelinde will never fail you.

[seawanderer]

[If he could purr, Maglor certainly would be! As it is he happily snuggles into the tight embrace, humming.]

No indeed!

(Each time they rest together - each time they speak - Maedhros is reminded of all the reasons he wants to protect this precious brother of his. He hates himself - utterly - for leaving him.)

Do you like nightingales, Kano?

[seawanderer]

[Maedhros has always been a source of comfort and safety for Maglor. Even at their least sane and most painful moments. It's why Maglor still fears Maedhros will leave him again. Knows it will happen again, whenever they leave.

So he'll soak up all he can until then, selfishly.]

I do... Their voices are beautiful.

[castintoflames]

I wonder if they exist in these forests? (He wants to find one - or a pair - for his brother. The pair could mate, nest and then Kano would have a whole flock!)

[seawanderer]

We could look? [He offers shyly, hopefully as he peeks up at his brother.]

I'd like to. (He looks towards the forest and gives Maglor a squeeze.)

I'm close with the other swords. But I started yours first.

[seawanderer]

Mm same. [Plus more time with his brother! He smiles brightly and leans up to kiss Maedhros' cheek.]
