It's been a little over a year since I got here. I guess... that makes it a little over a year since all this shit happened and the Herald died and everything went to shit.

I know we've been closing rifts and killing red templars and Vena-whatchamacallit, but when are we gonna go fight the cause of all this? That darkspawn guy. Corypheus.

Everything just seems to be betting worse, after all. What if something happens that cannot be reversed just because we're busy throwing balls and sucking up to nobles?

It doesn't make any sense why people are still squabbling with civil wars and shit when we could be neck deep in red lyrium, darkspawn and archdemon-dragons at any moment.

People deal with whatever it's in their power to deal with. A country gets scared, their leader makes a big show of power, they feel better. The world's not so uncontrollable as all that.

You avoid panic, riots, little things that could build up and put a stopper in any forces they might be willing to send our way.

I don't mind boring and I'm not looking for glory. I'm not saying I want to go out there, arrows flying and get killed in two seconds like an idiot. Just that... we all should do more than we are. Together.

It doesn't feel like there's any progress no matter how many people we save or bad guys we kill. Are we going to make sure the world gets to live without demons and holes in the sky or argue who's going to be in power?

Trust me. If it were as easy as kicking the hole in the sky's ass, we'd have done it by now.

You never go into a fight thinking you're gonna lose. Shit has a way of turning self-fulfilling on you, if you do.

But I've seen it happen. You fight a fight long enough and people don't make the progress they think they should? It gets into your head. Protracted battles tend to bring out the worst in people.
