Inquisition! We have for you a list of nominees for your Satinalia Fools. We say Fools, plural, because we have many fine nominees and two crowns - we think they may be crowns. We removed them from the heads of statues in some temple or another. Perhaps they were symbols of shame rather than nobility? None of us is qualified to say, but the statues were very small compared to some others, and - [ an abrupt end to the rambling ] - we will assume they are close enough to crowns to crown Fools. Valentine has been testing them and looks very Foolish.

Two Fools, then. If they cannot cooperate we will give each one half of the courtyard during the festivities and they may, éventuellement, stage a battle between their kingdoms.

We have placed a box outside the tavern where you can place the name of the nominee you wish to support. Please only choose once. The Maker does not endorse cheating. If you do not believe in the Maker then whatever you do believe in likely does not endorse cheating, either, though, again, none of us is qualified to say. If you believe in a god that does endorse cheating, please find it in your own heart to practice restraint.

Almost poetically. Can anything truly poetic come from Kirkwall?

Poetic and edible seems far too much to ask. And both, again, seem unlikely in Kirkwall. I suppose poetic might be slightly more likely.

Absolutely unlikely. The poems of Kirkwall are a clumsy fumbling. In fact, let us not even profane poetry with Kirkwall's name. Their version requires its own word, to keep it well separated from truer poetics.

Perhaps, and I would of course love to hear what word you might apply in its place, but I would still prefer to hear Kirkwallian poetry rather than eat anything produced in that demon-infested cesspool of a city.

Rhyming words. Approximately rhyming words.

And to eat something from a demon-infested cesspool might be an adventure.

I imagine it would be like that ham from the Anderfels that tastes of despair. Sausage from Kirkwall that tastes of possession. Perhaps a cheese with a distinct hint of squalor. Mmm.

Truly, in all my travels I do not think I have heard of a more revolting dish. I should rather go back to Seheron and eat that egg cured in ashes than anything that tastes of oiled and buttered hair and the disaster that is Kirkwall.
