Inquisition! We have for you a list of nominees for your Satinalia Fools. We say Fools, plural, because we have many fine nominees and two crowns - we think they may be crowns. We removed them from the heads of statues in some temple or another. Perhaps they were symbols of shame rather than nobility? None of us is qualified to say, but the statues were very small compared to some others, and - [ an abrupt end to the rambling ] - we will assume they are close enough to crowns to crown Fools. Valentine has been testing them and looks very Foolish.

Two Fools, then. If they cannot cooperate we will give each one half of the courtyard during the festivities and they may, éventuellement, stage a battle between their kingdoms.

We have placed a box outside the tavern where you can place the name of the nominee you wish to support. Please only choose once. The Maker does not endorse cheating. If you do not believe in the Maker then whatever you do believe in likely does not endorse cheating, either, though, again, none of us is qualified to say. If you believe in a god that does endorse cheating, please find it in your own heart to practice restraint.

I couldn't possibly. I'm here representing the dignity of Orlais, being crowned Fool would only cheapen my mission.

I am more concerned that it would cheapen the festival, which will be here representing the indignity of us all—but in either case, I do see your point. We must wait, and if you remain with us in Summer, crown you Queen of Summersday. For the dignity of Orlais.

Andraste's ashes I hope I'm not here still in Summer. Though I suppose anything is possible.

Personally, I have always felt that Orlais has rather too much dignity, mademoiselle.

Ordinarily I would agree, though it seems we have been suffering blows to our dignity, as of late.

One woman's opinion. But even so: what better way to minimize the blow than by distracting from it?

I am not particularly interested in running a campaign. Though certainly if there were another more well-known Orlesian who is already nominated, that indignity would be perfectly fine.

How interesting. Does that mean that I can expect your vote?

I am undecided, of yet. I only know two of you listed, though of the two of you I think you may in fact be better suited.

I generally am better suited. To most things, anyways. But, please, then. Allow me to convince you. Who is the other that you know?

I believe my mother would no longer agree with you on that, non? [the most innocent tone ever]

The Warden. I worked with him once.

[excuse. but also, correct.]

Would your mother like the Warden better, do you think?

Of course not, he's Ferelden. I do not know if that is a point entirely in your favor, however.

But in a contest between myself, and the Ferelden Warden... I would be chosen.

Not that you should vote along with what your mother would do. Indeed, in most matters, I think it is better that you do not. I only mean to say that it would be a very foolish thing, wouldn't it? If your vote were to turn out that way.

Ah, I see what you mean. Though that really only accounts for my own foolishness, and not your own. Are you up to the challenge of being the Fool?

You know, some would say that I have been preparing for that challenge all my life.

Yes, but I did not ask them, I am asking you.

But who am I to argue with such a popular opinion? It is true. I am often found to be foolish. Devastatingly handsome, and too clever for my own good, and many other things as well, but--

Well, let us say that if I had an acre of land for every time I have been called 'foolish', I would own all of Thedas at least twice over. How can I not believe it of myself?

I don't know, you have often been quite adamant to do the opposite of what is expected of you.

I seem to recall that is an attribute often found charming. Or amusing, at the very least. No?
