Good evening, everyone. My name is Josephine Montilyet and I am the Ambassador for the Inquisition. I've not had the pleasure of meeting as many of you as would like personally, so... I thought this might be an easier, more - ah - approachable way of getting to know each other better.

( She clears her throat as though to prevent herself from rambling. )

I must confess I do not know where to start. Perhaps a conversational ice-breaker will have to do. ( So much for not rambling. ) What do you miss most about your life before the Inquisition?

Spices. Southern cuisine is...well. You know. Araceli getting those Tal-Vashoth chefs was just the thing we needed.

I miss the Circle library. It was simply enormous, a great wealth of knowledge.

There isn't much to miss about being a Grey Warden, as those duties -and complications- still continue.

( She misses not being part of an organisation which welcomes wilful apostates and Dalish.

She does not say that.

Her voice is calm, as always. )

I miss life before the mages and Templars began their fool war, more than life before the Inquisition; too many lives have been lost to it.

( A pause; ) And what of you, Ambassador?

[There's a wistful sigh.] I miss my brother and sister, terribly.

My wine.

[ and, you know, elves not being slaves, his son and his subjects, and his soul not being slowly torn away from his body by the presence of the veil.

[ Ambassador? Seems important, wouldn't hurt to make acquaintances with them. But it takes her a moment to think up an answer that doesn't give too much away about herself, guard up as always. ]

It's good to meet you, I'm Delphine. A rifter here, so I'm from an entirely different world.

And I'd have to say I miss the technology from my world.

[Crap. She should... probably answer or something? But man, this touchy-feely stuff is so awkward.]

I don't know, uh... My mum's shop, I guess?

[ There's probably a lot of deep answers that show a lot of meaning but she can't helping with the first thing that actually comes to mind. ]

A real bed, I guess.

My friends from home.

[And Scotland, but since he's already talked about that with her, he opts to keep those thoughts to himself this time around.]

Wish I had some way of knowing they're alright.

Getting to be by the sea and the docks every day. And my loved ones.

[It's not like she can send all the letters she writes.]

Okay, I guess the last part was thoughtless. Sorry. It's just that the stuff down south takes a lot of getting used to. If it's any consolation, desserts always win me over.

We could turn the question around. What do you miss about it?

I have been hearing less complaints about the kitchens of late. Is there still room for improvements?

The library in Skyhold does leave much to be desired for, it is true. Do you have any recommendations for books you would like to see in future?

The Grey Wardens have always been a very secretive, but committed, order. Should a Blight happen again, we will be very grateful to have you.

( It does not take much thinking to come up with her answer. )

I, too, miss happier times. When there was less at stake.

( Oh, Bethany. That feeling of longing, of wanting to be with one's family, is one that Josephine can empathise with completely. She finds herself curious, however, not about the Champion but of her brother. )

Have you heard from your brother recently?

( Oh. )

Is the wine in the Inquisition's cellars not to your liking?

It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, Delphine, even if it is under these unfortunate circumstances.

What technology is it that you refer to? I always find that rifters have the most fascinating stories.

( She makes a sympathetic noise. )

What is it that it sold?

( Josephine cannot help but let out a laugh at the refreshing honesty. )

I miss the comforts of my home as well.

( She can't begin to truly imagine what Jamie is feeling but she does her best to sympathise nonetheless. )

There is little that we can do in these times except to have faith.

I miss the sea as well. ( And her family, but she doesn't say it in the hopes that it will be a given. )

Where was it that you used to live?

I would expect nothing less. ( Her answer comes easily to her as she has already considered it. )

I miss how simpler things were when I das younger. Life was... easier, I suppose, when there was less at stake.

[She sighed again, pushing hair out of her face in a gesture that Josephine can't see... but the sigh is felt, all the way down to her bones.]

I have - but it's infrequent. He's never been much of a letter writer.

[Her mouth twists.] I would know if something was wrong, though. As horrible as that sounds - I'm glad for the connection.
