Good evening, everyone. My name is Josephine Montilyet and I am the Ambassador for the Inquisition. I've not had the pleasure of meeting as many of you as would like personally, so... I thought this might be an easier, more - ah - approachable way of getting to know each other better.

( She clears her throat as though to prevent herself from rambling. )

I must confess I do not know where to start. Perhaps a conversational ice-breaker will have to do. ( So much for not rambling. ) What do you miss most about your life before the Inquisition?

Castileos. Beyond the rifts. [Not that she really needs to add that but...it can't be helped.]

It's close enough to let me pass for Antivan with a dash of Rivaini on the surface.

I've been to Antiva twice and Rivain once, I was in Dairsmuid for much of Solace.

[How does she phrase this politely to the ambassador when she was just complaining about to Church…]

I come from a nation of sailors, my father is a captain and my home country is a series of islands that would sprawl farther than the main chunk of Thedas. Very little of the seas have been explored here, it seems. We have roamed and mapped every inch of our world only to keep finding new islands and archipelagos.

I cannot imagine that. To not want to know what's out there. But all our tales are that we came from the sea, we built atop the ruins from below, and some of our truest sailors are called Sons of the Sea. [A small sigh escapes her, not wholly sad the way she sometimes is but still full of longing.]

Do you know why so few share your curiosity?

Fear seems to have controlled so much of the history of Thedas. There could be untold wonder out there just waiting for a brave enough woman. [Because let's be honest, Araceli isn't going to ever trust a man to do a woman's job.]

There are many sailors like my father who have never spent a whole day or night on dry land. Always on their ships, always on the waves. That is the only life they have ever known.

No? I went with him sometimes. When you climb up the rigging you can see further than you can from the top of Skyhold on a clear day. [Which she would know since she's the climbing instructor anyway but she knows every inch of the walls and rooftops.] There was always work to be done. Spreading the word, ferrying cargo, guarding the whales from far less scrupulous souls. There sea is never the same one day to the next, no matter what anyone might say. It's constant, but always changing.
