FORM: Sending Crystal
SENDER: Josephine Montilyet
RECIPIENT: Everyone!
WHAT: A question! (Please talk to her, she's lonely.)
WHEN: Current
WHERE: Skyhold
NOTES: n/a
Good evening, everyone. My name is Josephine Montilyet and I am the Ambassador for the Inquisition. I've not had the pleasure of meeting as many of you as would like personally, so... I thought this might be an easier, more - ah - approachable way of getting to know each other better.
( She clears her throat as though to prevent herself from rambling. )
I must confess I do not know where to start. Perhaps a conversational ice-breaker will have to do. ( So much for not rambling. ) What do you miss most about your life before the Inquisition?

She must miss you. My mother is much the same way.
( Yes, even though letter-writing is one of Josephine's specialities. )

[...wait.]
Not hard to picture that your mum would miss you. Obviously, she would do that. Just that yours and mine would be much alike at all, yeah?
Er... That still sounds pretty bad, doesn't it? [Andraste's tits, Avery, get your foot out of your mouth immediately!!] It wasn't meant to. Sorry, uh, ma'am.
no subject
Even though we both come from different backgrounds, I believe your mother and mine might have more in common that you might think.
no subject
How do you figure?
no subject
Am I wrong?
no subject
[Especially about the praying. If Avery had to guess, hers probably does enough of that for two, maybe three mothers.]

I know your work is important to you, but I cannot help but wish you would come home. At least for another visit. Your sister is getting herself into all sorts of trouble again.
no subject
And... maybe it's not so "fancy" or "important" but there's work to be done at home too. Do you know what I had to handle all by my poor, lonesome self last week in front of everyone? You should have heard the neighbors talking.
[Her accent through it all stays the same, but her voice does go a bit more shrill.]
no subject
See? Not so different after all. So... if I may ask, what is it that you left your mother to deal with all on her lonesome?
no subject
I guess it's not completely the same though. It's mostly just been the two of us running the place since-- [She hesitates, then clears her throat to cover the awkward moment.] ...well, since she lost her husband.
no subject
I'm sorry to hear of your loss. Do you have no other family?

[Avery seems to be having trouble with her imagination as well.]

We had our scuffles, growing up, as all siblings do. But it did mean I was never alone. Even though I'm the eldest, I scarcely remember a time from my childhood when I was without one or the other. I do wish sometimes that they were more responsible, but... Perhaps it is something that comes with age.
( She can only dream. )
no subject
Well... if they're ever around Skyhold, you can always try sending them down to me for a while. Maybe a bit of kitchen duty would help age them.

Have you asked them?
[It's called having no subtlety.]
no subject
I suppose that I could, but I would not feel right if they left Antiva solely for my own sake.
no subject
Solely? There wouldn't be anything in it for them?

I appreciate the thought, but Mother would never let them. So I've not asked.
( Not that a simple matter such as permission would dissuade Yvette if she put her mind to it, but...better not to think of that, lest it come true. )
