Hello. In case I have not met a number of you, [ It's been a month. He's been— occupied. ] This is Speaker Fabria. I manage Project Haven, which works to maintain good relations with the Chantry, and through it the Inquisition.
There has been some news of late that is— [ concerning? ha ha nah. ] perhaps relevant to some our number. Evidently, a blackhaller in Ferelden agreed to hear charges brought against a Templar by a mage, regarding the former's conduct in Kinloch Hold. In the absence of an active Circle or any other clear process to resolve the complaint, my understanding is that Queen Anora supported the blackhaller's decision, and asserted Fereldan's right to handle disputes that arise within their own borders in this instance.
[ Like mages were citizens or something. Madness. ]
Her Holiness Divine Beatrix has subsequently appointed a Brother and Sister in Val Royeaux to receive and respond to charges brought against either mages or Templars. In the future, any such complaints must be delivered to Val Royeaux by the complaintants in person, so that their identities may be verified.
[ """so that their identities may be verified""" ]
—On an unrelated note, while I have a moment of your attention, I would ask everyone to remember that our relationship with the Chantry is vital to our ability to work seamlessly with the Inquisition and defeat Corypheus. I understand we have gained several Chantry representatives among our number of late, and I hope their presence is beneficial to that end.
If you have any concerns about your [ wildly illegal blood magic experiments or ] ability to represent Riftwatch in a manner inoffensive to the Chantry, please come to me personally. Project Haven exists to help all of us find ways to work peaceably together toward a common goal.

[There's doubtless a verse to cover what she's not saying so no one who might ever report her could tell her off.]

Then all we have to worry about is couriers getting attacked before they get anywhere.

As for the roads, they were bad much of my way out of Orlais and I was fortunate to argue that one Sister is likely to draw less ire alone than a Templar in step with her. But...I might have felt safer for the company. Most won't have that. There were certainly many eyes.
[Or was that just her who had them prickling all over, burrs beneath her robes?]

[ Is one word for it. ]
It is a pity the Divine's justice could not be found a little nearer at hand. Tantervalle, or Antiva City perhaps, if not Denerim.

[If it's meant to be a question it falls flat, falls far from it; the scowl is audible, a bitter taste in the mouth.]

What would you have preferred, Sister, were the decision left to you?

Antiva would maybe have accusations of favouritism but there are other affairs more important there. Nevarra would've put noses out of joint but it might've been better if things hadn't turned as they have.
If push came to shove though I'd sooner take Serault over Val Royeaux.

[ Not that that's, like, relevant to his interests or anything. ]
private;
[Serault's shame in the shadow of Val Royeaux's opulence? There are more important battles in the here and now rather than what old men and women did.]
