What do you guys miss the most from home? I miss... [ a small, longing sigh ] Decent music and decent booze, mainly.

[ A pause. ]
This was before the zombies destroyed everything. I can't go back home and get those things back.
[ Or her family, but she doesn't want to mention that and be totally depressing. ]

[ How is she supposed to respond to that? ]
I'm sorry to hear that. I didn't know—uh, maybe I shouldn't be surprised about this being a thing, but zombies aren't real where I come from.

( gwenaëlle is perfectly aware that this is likely a rifter asking a rifter question, but kirkwall isn't home and she misses things from home more here than she did in skyhold.
because kirkwall is a shithole, mainly. )

[ Without delay. It's amazing how quickly you can get used to seeing someone every day. ]
Of course if they ever appear here, you can't tell them I said so. I'd never hear the end of it.

Besides my friends and the freedom to travel, I think it would probably have to be... ballpoint pens. And computers. A decent cup of coffee. Movie night...

Gotta say I'm missing Skype right now.

Not, y'know. Not literally. Nothing's actually on fire, usually, I mean.

[ Oh but if this is the guy she thinks it is, the last time they tried to talk place names it just got really confusing. ]
That was a joke.

I miss the instant gratification of posting selfies on social media. I miss being able to look at pictures of cats who forgot to put their tongue back in. I miss being able to wear short shorts and tank tops when the weather is too hot. I miss being really high up in the sky, and being able to look at the city, and see the halo of light around it—I know it’s technically light pollution, but I thought it was pretty.

You could still wear shorts and a tank top here, couldn't you?

[Not even a second of contemplation of what he could offer up on the list of things he missed.]
And electricity. I miss that too.
[Holovids, easily adjusted lighting, better prepared food and better food storage... the list could go on.]

Electric lights would be nice. And a phone with GPS.

[Two and a half years or something she can't get it right and it's frustrating.]
