Further edit: Katniss's post is screwed up because I didn't realize sending crystals are only auditory. So, please if you will, Katniss is making weird noises in the background of her messages. If asked, she will describe what she is doing.

Well - we are all cold - but Korrin brought some cider along with her. Christine seems a little sore - I don't think she rides often. Merrick is ... well he's an ass. I'm trying to gauge his ass-iness so I know when I should throw him in a snow drift or try soothing him.

I wish I could offer advice but... I can't. It's complicated, of course.

[ Namely that Merrick has never let Ellana see his harsher, violent side. And she still doesn't know why. ]

If he keeps busy, he should be all right. And his bluntness -- you get used to it.

Naturally ... I think 'It's Complicated' should be the coat of arms for Clan Ashara. [Katniss stated wryly.] He's busy enough - he's organizing our hunts out for the best visibility. And I'm used to blunt. He just doesn't get to antagonize me.

Honestly, from what I've heard, it's not really antagonizing until he throws a knife at you.

I didn't mean to frighten you. Merrick is just... very angry, most of the time. But he's away from the clan now, and I really think he'll learn and grow.

I'm not frightened - I'm damned angry. No one gets to throw a knife at me because he's having a hissy-fit.

[Huffs.] We're all angry .... all right not you. Or Salvatore. Or Airy.

Well... please don't be angry in advance of it actually happening? It hasn't yet. And don't bring it up to him or he might just do it to be a brat.

[ There's a pause before she answers. ]

I do get angry about things, but perhaps it's good I don't seem to be the type.

....That's fair. He hasn't thrown a knife at me yet. And I sure as hell am Not giving him a reason to throw one.

[A faint snort.]

Probably best. We have enough hot heads around here.

We do. The others you mentioned and I can balance things out. Think before acting.
