[When this new voice speaks, there is a slight reverb to it, not sounding quite right.]
A curious thing, these crystals. But most certainly a revolutionary tool. I commend whomever created it.
In any case, I felt it necessary to introduce myself. My name is Thane, and I have been assigned to the Scouting division. I wish to make myself available, should you need me.
In addition, I understand there are some studying the red lyrium. If I may, I wish to speak to those on that project. In person, preferably. The topic is delicate in nature.
Thank you for your time. Maker be with you.

I leave that to your preference. Simply call upon me, and my time is yours.

Andaran atish’an, Thane. I would welcome you after you finish your greetings, if that works for you.

guess what, there's action here now
Lady Ashara, it's Thane.
gasp
Thane, it's good to finally meet you. I've heard quite a bit about your exemplar skills in your profession.
[ She won't get down to brass tacks until Thane steps in, and she can secure the door. The last thing she needs is someone walking by while she chats about assassinations.

Though Lord Harcon can flourish his words, he is honest. I hope to not disappoint.

[ Beleth closes the door behind him, debates locking it--but that might send the wrong message. And she's rather not put a skilled assassin on edge. Instead, she gestures to the two chairs on this side of her desk, taking a seat in one of them. ]
Thank you for meeting with me privately. The Inquisition is no stranger to having assassins amongst their number--Have you heard of Zevran Arainai? He worked here for a while. He was my mentor, for a time. [ A small, slightly rueful smile at that. ]
But the group here is much...smaller. Whether you reveal your occupation or not is entirely in your hands, but I wanted to give you the privacy to be able to choose.

[Thane shakes his head.] I did not arrive under the pretense of being anything else. I have been open about who I am to others in the Inquisition. They should know their weapons at their disposal in my case.
If I have overstepped, please let me know.

You're free to tell people about your occupation, if you wish it. Just know that some of them back be...distrusting about it. If anyone gives you too much trouble, just let me know.
[ She can't remember anyone who gave Zevran a great deal of trouble--mostly, they just avoided him. But that can be harder to do here. ]
Aside from that, I wanted to know what kind of experience you have in other skills you might need to use. Things like infiltration, combat, scouting, lockpicking...So on and so forth.
[ Some of it surely comes with being a successful assassin, but she isn't going to assume anything. ]

[Thane folds his arms behind his back.]
Of course.
I am familiar with all of these. There are few places that I cannot infiltrate or scout. I'm prepared for all terrains, short of an incredible storm. Lockpicking is nothing new. Combat, above all else, is my specialty, to take down my opponents quickly and unseen. I would say the only unfamiliarity to me is adjusting to fighting the Red Templars, but I will adapt.
I have killed nobles, politicians, and many other kinds of people in my time. I am fluent in Orlesian and Antivan.
[There's a pause, then he adds with more reluctance.] I can also interrogate captives, if you need it done discreetly.

[ She listens as he speaks, nodding along as he lists off his skills. It's what she would expect for an assassin with the skill she's been told he possesses. Again, she's reminded of Zevran--but she shoves it out of her mind. His personality couldn't be more different if he were actively trying.
Which is probably for the best. ]
There is a project dedicated to dealing with red lyrium. I believe you were contacted by the head of the project? That would be your best bet in learning to deal with them. As for dealing with interrogations, I don't foresee that being an issue any time soon.
[ Which is for the best. Beleth would be as reluctant to order it as Thane seems to be to do it. ]
How are you in combat if the enemy is aware of you, and ready to fight against you? I know this is not a situation that you would often find yourself in, but...Speaking from experience, you can never be sure of what kind of situation you'll find yourself in, working for the Inquisition.

[He'll get to the red lyrium part, in case it was not listed by his former handler.]
Normally, if I am infiltrating but discovered, I remove the problem immediately. Kill, hide the body, move on. I am not concerned about the enemy noticing me, rare as it is; they do not notice for much longer, typically.

Excellent. Now, I have a request--Though I want to make it clear that this is entirely optional. I have many people in my division, with a variety of past experience. I try to make sure those who are more inexperienced have access to resources to help them.
I was wondering if you would be willing to teach others in the division some of your skills. You needn't share...everything. Weapon proficiency, infiltration, whatever you think would aid them out in the field. What and who you teach, I leave to your discretion.
no subject
I will ensure those who learn truly are the ones who need it most.

That's all the questions I had for you. Do you have any for me...?
