[As promised, Thane makes his arrival before Christine's door. He does not let himself inside, though in many ways he could.

Instead, he knocks thrice before announcing himself:]

[ It's appreciated. No one wants an assassin sneaking in, even if it's just to talk. She answers the door promptly and ushers him inside. Her office space is small, with only a tiny slit of a window to let out the candle smoke. But it has a desk and two chairs so she can seat a guest. ]

[ She closes the door behind him and moves to take her seat behind her desk. She already has a hunch as to what this concerns, but she's hoping she's wrong. ]

Though I escaped, I am not unscathed. There is red lyrium inside me, growing first in my lungs. I know it will kill me one day.
