Good day, Inquisition. I apologize if there's some etiquette for using these things that was not explained to me, but otherwise I wished to introduce myself. My name is Enchanter Julius, formerly of Kinloch Hold, and I'm a new addition to the research department. I look forward to working with you.

If anyone is need of assistance on more personal matters, too, do let me know. I'm handy with both glyphs and runes, especially, and I'm happy to do what I can.

Hopefully this doesn't contradict any DA canon? I looked but didn't find anything

It wasn't always the same, but usually it would be sort of a haze or a shimmer of some sort. Easy to miss if you lost concentration. And I don't think you could cast a spell in the Fade and manifest it in the real world once you're already there, as far as I know; I had to cast it before I fell asleep to get it to work at all.

I've wondered if it would be easier if I anchored the spell to a specific, consistent object, instead of just on the ground where I was. Something I could use to metaphorically represent it in the Fade. But I didn't get around to testing the thought.

I'm the worst person to consult on canonicity of anything in DA, ahaha

Right, right. The Veil's impermeable from that side, Maker be thanked; whatever you cast there stays there, though-- [He stops, thinking hard--the Veil's thin here in Kirkwall, maybe... No that's likely a swift route to possession. Don't even bring it up.] --mmh. Never mind.

--That, though. That should work; I use something like it, not for anchoring spells but keeping memories in order. The principle should be the same--make what you've fixed your glyph to memorable enough and it'll start showing up with you in the Fade. Took me a few months of practice but it'll likely go faster for you, if you choose to try it.

If you have the time, I'd be delighted to see what it is you've done with it. It's been ages since I had a chance to discuss theory with anyone, and I can imagine quite a few uses if we can prove it works consistently.

[And probably more than one person who might point out giving things in the Fade a concrete link to something outside the Fade has some worrying implications, but who's counting.]
