Hello everyone! If you could do me a favor and not cut any of the long strands of twine you might see around the city, that would be wonderful. It's to help people get around. Myself included - lived here for years and I live for a while and can't remember where anything is!
[ Not that Merrill was very good at remembering where things were when she was in Kirkwall every day anyway, but. ]
If anyone else is having a hard time finding their way around, a ball of twine is the best way! It'll get you back to where you need to be.

If we (myself and my mabari) are nearby, you and anyone else are welcome to explore the area with us. Garahel has an excellent sense of direction.

That would be lovely, though! How are you- um, finding it, so far?
no subject
Though otherwise, it reminds me a bit of Denerim.

[ Merrill coped the way she always copes, really -- with smiles and pretending everything is fine until it actually was. ]
Really? I've never been- what's it like? What of Kirkwall reminds you of it?

It can't hurt! We'll have to try it.

Just for you and Sina, though. Anyone else I'd probably charge for the service.

[ She can't imagine some of the poorer folk not snipping it to use for something. ]

[ This is what happens when Varric pays people to watch you. ]

[ What. How even? ]
I'm still at Skyhold, but when I arrive, you'll have to show me around. Hopefully some nicer spots than what we saw the last time we were there.
[ Nasty, dark tunnels with Venatori instead of where they planned on going. ]

[ Merrill cannot be mad at cats. She just can't. ]
Just leave the severed bit near where you found it and hopefully I'll be able to pick up the trail.
no subject
Let me know if you don't find it again. I wouldn't mind seeing as my cat caused the issue.

- So tell me. No one ever snips these threads?

[ This is what happens when people are paid to look out for you: intact thread. ]
And if they do, they usually apologize.

[Now it is an intriguing bit of news.]
I must say, I did not think the people of Kirkwall had it in them. They're much more a - slit your throat and take your money while smiling at you kind.
[So really, his kind of people.]

How are you?

[Though it's true, Hawke did a lot to get rid of some of the criminal activity that plagued the city. Fenris is cynical enough to be certain that it's all just started up anew by now.]
Aside from questioning my latest choices, I'm fine.
[.......]
[Oh, he... should maybe say something to reciprocate. To be fair, she's alive, people around her are alive, and she apparently hasn't made any hideous disasters happen with that blood magic that he's heard of. Which is... Something. It's grudging but he finally asks,] You?
