Hello everyone! If you could do me a favor and not cut any of the long strands of twine you might see around the city, that would be wonderful. It's to help people get around. Myself included - lived here for years and I live for a while and can't remember where anything is!

[ Not that Merrill was very good at remembering where things were when she was in Kirkwall every day anyway, but. ]

If anyone else is having a hard time finding their way around, a ball of twine is the best way! It'll get you back to where you need to be.

It wasn't quite as thin, before. But- you just grow used to it, I suppose. And I already had a spirit speaking to me quite frequently, so I was used to that, too.

[ Merrill coped the way she always copes, really -- with smiles and pretending everything is fine until it actually was. ]

Really? I've never been- what's it like? What of Kirkwall reminds you of it?

A friendly spirit, I assume? Most I have encountered thus far seem to be rather disruptive.

Denerim is loud and crowded...and it has its docks, too. I visited semi-recently, for nostalgia's sake.

Spirits have different definitions of 'friendly' than you and I do. All of them can be dangerous, just like any of us could be dangerous -- or disruptive. I'm sure that with everything going on more of them are likely to lash out.

Is it as hard to get around in as Kirkwall?

That potential is always there, true. I hope that our current efforts will appease at least some of them.

It can be, at least to myself. I only remembered the alienage and then only vaguely. I was utterly lost anywhere else.

So do I. I think we'd all like to feel a little safer while sleeping, for starters.

Oh- I should see if anyone's moved into my old house in the alienage, come to think of it!

If it's empty, I hope you can reclaim it if you like. It helps to have something familiar.

It's okay if it isn't, as long as it's someone who really needs the space. Not some other bandit or something. I can always stay with the Inquisition, after all -- with people who've become familiar.

But if it is empty, and I get it back, you should visit!

I-- [She bites back all the reasons why she wouldn't fit in at the alienage, but...it's just a visit, not an intention to live there herself. Besides, she is a little curious about their vhenadahl.]

I'll try to actually be a good host, too. I never have anything but water to offer anyone. And the roof leaked.
