Hello everyone! If you could do me a favor and not cut any of the long strands of twine you might see around the city, that would be wonderful. It's to help people get around. Myself included - lived here for years and I live for a while and can't remember where anything is!

[ Not that Merrill was very good at remembering where things were when she was in Kirkwall every day anyway, but. ]

If anyone else is having a hard time finding their way around, a ball of twine is the best way! It'll get you back to where you need to be.

Just leave the severed bit near where you found it and hopefully I'll be able to pick up the trail.

I need to pick up bootlaces for her. She's been obsessed with anything string-like these past few days.

Let me know if you don't find it again. I wouldn't mind seeing as my cat caused the issue.

Obsessed these past few days. She's always enjoyed them, but suddenly they're all the toys she wants. I woke up to one of my boots being entirely unlaced this morning thanks to her.

And I'm... I will never be a fan of Kirkwall. But it's warmer than Skyhold, at least. Physically speaking.

[Merrill might be warm toward him, but plenty here are icy.]

We should go to the Wounded Coast sometime. Take a walk, look for seashells. There shouldn't be as many Tal-Vashoth there now, I wouldn't think.

She's just been moved across countries and climates, that could have something to do with it.

[Or she could have picked up on how tense and nervous he is and be reacting to it.]

I'd enjoy a walk along the Coast. There's plenty of herbs that can be gathered there while you find seashells. We'll have to find a time when they can let the both of us go.

You can always say it is work, since you'll be gathering herbs. That could help us find some time.

A walk and playing with the cat while working sounds rather enjoyable. Let me know when you've found time and if we don't have too many injured I should be able to join you.

Absolutely! I can always see if they'll let me work by helping you for the day, too. Maybe it'll become a regular thing if we bring back enough.

[He's quiet for a few moments. There's some freedom on offer, and for some reason she hasn't tried guilting him at all over all he's done to her. Anders' voice is a little tentative when he answers.]

I think I'd like that. If it works out. It might not, and that's all right.

[Always best to hedge his bets when talking publicly.]

We'll figure something out, [ chirps Merrill, ever the optimist. As far as she's concerned, Anders is her friend. He's done bad things, sure, but he regrets them. He's said things to her, but they mostly haven't bothered her enough or she's said things right back.

Friends can disagree. And all of them need friends. ]

Purrelden might not like the beach, though.

She likes sand. She can sit for an hour just slowly poking it with her paw and watching it shift around. If the sand is too damp for her, she likes my shoulder too. I've a very good cat. Nate chose well.

[Not like they'd known that when Nate had put the tiny kitten onto Anders, but truth be told Anders would find the silver lining in having any cat. They're cats.]

We'll... We'll make it work.
