[He isn't lying. It is scarcely three minutes before he makes his way up the stairs to find her desk, shooting nearby researchers very stern looks that convey the need for privacy more clearly than any words could. So that by the time he reaches her, he is assured of their solitude.]

What sort of experiments. [He isn't about to beat around the bush.] Do you have any idea what they know of the shards capabilities?

There is no limit to the damage they could do, if they were to find out what the shards are capable of, and sway those that had them. They would not - not be able to use the orb, thankfully, not with the shattered state of the anchor, but if they realised that the shards could open rifts and not merely close them...

They had found subjects with shards for their research that were not of the Inquisition. With rifts spitting them out in such a randomized way? We cannot know how many there have been or how many more there might be. We recovered those they took but-

The nature of their experiments killed the rest. I do not believe they understand what the shards are capable of just yet, but it is only a matter of time.
