[The voice on the other end is high and soft, tone timid. Unless he's heard her speaking somewhere, he is probably not assigning this voice to the large new Qunari who's been around.]

They're not dangerous by themselves, but there is the potential for it to be if things go wrong. This is a safeguard to prevent events like that from occurring.

[She swallows hard.]

Can...may I ask what...you'll do with it? [ARE YOU GOING TO CUT HER HAND OFF]

Solas will just be applying magic to the shard itself to ensure that it safeguards you and also soothe any pain you might feel from it. Nothing about you will be affected.

Oh. [That is a little reassuring.] I...I suppose it has to be magic, then?

[She's a little afraid of magic, still.] Are you sure it will make it hurt less? [Really, that's the main draw of what he's said so far. It aches a lot.]

It is magic, yes, but it won't affect you - only the shard. And yes, it will ease the pain. I promise you that it will be fine - Solas did the same for the Herald when she was still around.
