[A somewhat monotone voice is heard over the crystals.]

It's Pel. Of Clan Ashara. I've written a book and it's published now. It's about Dalish culture. I will be selling it at my yarn shop until the new Divine is elected, at which point it will be banned because it's a book about elves written by an elf. So buy it while you can.

[What? She's not a hawker. She's not a beggar, either.

She'll hang around on the crystal in case anyone has questions.]

Would I now? [The flirting doesn't escape his notice, and he matches her tone for the moment with a crooked smile.] No offense, m'lady, but I try to steer clear of all kinds of trouble, what makes yours any different?

[She blushes, since she's not actually very good at flirting. But this is just fun, not actual seduction, so she keeps it light.]

I have knit goods. And. [In her best seductive voice:] Steak and kidney pie.

What? What do either of those have to do with you and your kind of trouble, hm? [Because neither of those sounded like any kind of trouble.]

[mythalenaste]

Welllll... [There is no turning back from this.] You sit with me at my trade blanket, and you share a pie with me. And we...see what happens.

[So like a date. Between people who think they might like each other even when they say nothing.]

[He considers it for a moment. Sharing a blanket and food sounds suspiciously like a picnic, or he was completely over thinking something very simple.]

Alright. [He gives her a nod.] I still don't see where the trouble comes in though.

Trouble is a metaphor. There could be trouble or there might not be. It really depends on how it goes with the blanket and the pie.

[And then she realizes he's teasing.]

Though I guess you... Erm, pretend I didn't say any of that and just come meet me for pie. It's still warm.

[scalethewall]

[His lopsided smile grows a little wider at her attempt at an explanation and justification.]

I already agreed, didn't I? [Still teasing, his tone is a little more reassuring now.] You don't have to twist my arm where pies are involved. [He chuckles.]

[mythalenaste]

[Give her a second to squee internally.]
