Announcement's mostly for the new folks, but for the old folks too: it's pancake Sunday. If you can drag your ass down to the kitchens before noon I will get you a plate. If you come after that, you roll the dice.

This week I'm making home fries. Rifter delicacy. If you have a request, don't be shy about it.

There's a few of you newbies floating around and I know at least some of you from Orientation, so I'll make it easy: if you're new to the Gallows, this invite is especially for you. Come meet some people.

Ah. Was covering the retreat, dunno if you heard about the dracolisks. Took a few arrows, one in the lung, lost an eye. Lots of burns.

Healed up fine, but it was ugly for a minute.

(It's very strange to hear about this in retrospect; she feels all of the dread, and it has nowhere to go. He is fine. He doesn't even scar. It also strikes Gela that she has always thought of that day as being terrible even though nothing happened to her, and she was very safe the entire time.)

I didn't hear about them. I wasn't as involved.

Would've preferred to keep some distance from it myself, to be honest.

[War is something Jude is unfortunately good at, but it doesn't mean he enjoys what happened there, and not just because of the pain of the injury, the panic and horror of the battlefield.]

Yes. I talked a couple places into partin' with supplies for us. (Frowning,) And now I s'pose I have to consider how Riftwatch will show their appreciation.
