So. Seems like I missed some fun. [Fun in the most pleasantly sarcastic way possible.] This sort of emotionally disruptive weirdness happen often, or do you just seem to attract it? I might want to run some odds with my own luck.

That said. Far be it for me to steal the Morale Officer's job; I would never think to overstep bounds in that manner. But in the spirit [poor wording?] of a new year, we should do something to banish the foul mood in the air, this malaise hanging around after...whatever you got caught up in. [Look, he wasn't there for that, but it's hard to miss the #mood that's permeated the aftermath.]

Who's up for a good old fashioned burning? [That is. perhaps a little too cheerful, the way he says it.] A bonfire to warm us up and burn away the things that haunt us. In a manner of speaking. Catharsis. Symbolism. Raze reminders of poorer times to the ground. Or get rid of unwanted stuff you can't give away, doesn't have to be that deep if you don't want it to be.

Not going far. Or going anywhere at all. We'll clear out a courtyard for it. The Morale Officer thought it was a fine idea. Plus, what better way to appeal to your new coworkers than by telling them their spirits can be lifted by burning their troubles to the ground.

I'm trying to decide if I want to sound mysterious and intriguing or blunt and upfront. First impressions are important. I might stare wistfully into the flames and let some parchment burn with none the wiser as to its contents.

Will anyone be monitoring contributions? I don't imagine most Riftwatch agents have anything valuable enough to be concerned about, but there's a duke hanging about, he could be throwing property deeds in the fire because he doesn't fancy a summer home on the coast anymore.

I understand that trust and acting on good faith are concepts that are... [frowned upon?] Sometimes laughable. I would of course hope that people only use this for the goodwill it's meant as.

And if a duke needs to burn some deeds, he has plenty of opportunity to be rid of them elsewhere with not so many people around.

[That is to say, he has no plans to vet what people wanna burn, unless it's something large (furniture) or dangerous (things that could be explosive).]
