A question of great importance: who is the most interesting person in Riftwatch?

I am composing a list, which I very easily could make alone. But that is not amusing. So, the winner of the list will of course receive a prize. An extra point will be awarded to a Rifter, quite obviously. Points deducted for, hm, [totally at random here,] let us say.... Wardens. I have nothing against them. Once I admired them! Then I had my sixth birthday, and I grew bored with them.

All suggestions will be considered.

I mean the thing about Rifters, right, is that there's two schools of thought on 'em. One, that they're demons, which is stupid but no less interesting, and two, that they're people from different worlds. That alone makes them far more interesting than someone from a different country, doesn't it? Unless, I suppose, we have to rank interest based on criteria other than where they come from.

[ Pause for a beat, perhaps to toke. ]

What tourney idea?

Think I'm over demons for a while.

You list them all, right, then you make matches. One on one. Mano a mano, as the Antivans say.

[ With the patience of one waving a hand to say get on with it: ]

Yeah, yeah, and then the winners of each pair get paired together until there's only two left.

[ In other words, I know what a fuckin' tourney is, mate. ]

But is that what we're doing? Or just a proposition?

Well I'd start, but seems kind of rude to start calling them by looks.

It is an intriguing suggestion. I do not think that I could bake a pie if someone were to ask it of me, so it is good for all that I would not be included in this "pie-o-pie".

Would instructions be provided?

Dunno. No instructions, and it's sort of about innovation — instructions, and it's about craft. What's more interesting?

Oh, innovation. Without question, that is the answer. Craft is important, to be sure, but if given the choice between the two, I will choose innovation every time. And then of course the winning result would be sold.

Not a bad scheme, if you got buyers lined up.
