Hello. My name is Maud Van Klerk, and I'm newly assisting the Seneschal with some recordkeeping. There are several entries for the purchase of various supplies for which the relevant forms are missing or unclear, and I am hopeful that one of you may recognize the purchase and be able to provide additional information. They are [ she reads from the stack ]:

• Yards of plain linen from Nevarra, numbered either ten or... ten hundred?
  
• Three nugs, and it specifies "average-sized and with all four limbs, of any color"
  
• A lute and a set of drums
  
• A pair of gloves of hardened gurgut skin and another of hardened tusket skin
  
• A bundle of Ghoul's Beard
  
• A whip, not barbed
  
• Two bottles of powdered bone

If you recognize any of these orders as your own or have a guess as to where they might have originated, I would appreciate your assistance. In any event, I look forward to making everyone's acquaintance. Thank you.

A pleasure, dear lady. But, by your leave, I'd like to leave the floor open to others and invite them to guess which one is mine. It will be a fun game for all, I fancy.

I see. As you like. I'm afraid I'm at a disadvantage in this game, perhaps a hint?

Oh! My apologies! I'm still rather unfamiliar with the forms, I'm afraid. The powdered bone is mine.

I'm sure it's a common mistake, and easily fixed. Can I have your name please, to mark down?

Ah, I am sorry for the paperwork. The nugs were for me.

[radicans]

Thank you. May I ask what they were for?

[cozen]

I hope they were for dressing in tiny little bonnets and taking on walks around the garden, but it is equally likely they were for stew.

[radicans]

I confess I had not considered either of those an option. You did not keep them, then?

[cozen]

No, no. They were favors for the Lady Teffania Boissieu. The Boissieus winter in Hightown, and they left her behind when they returned to Orlais because of all the trouble there—not completely alone, of course. She is six. She has company. But she was inconsolable in the market a few months ago, and her governess said it was for want of nugs.

[heirring]

The form is in a drawer in my desk. I have yet to file it, but it is most assuredly-- the gloves. You may put me down for them. Miss Wysteria Poppell.

That's quite alright, thank you, Miss Poppell. I see you are in the Research Division, so I presume they were purchased in aid of some experiment that required resistance to both heat and cold?

[degenere]

That is what they are to be used for, but they are not for her.

[heirring]

[Just slightly louder:]

That is correct, Miss Van Klerk. They are for general use in the Research division workshops for just such experimentation. And I am delighted that you had such reasoning so ready. Will you be joining myself and the esteemed Monsieur de Foncé in Research as well?

[radicans]

I-- see. I'll mark that down, thank you, Miss Poppell. And Monsieur de Foncé.

I've been assigned to the Diplomacy division. There seems to be a need for administrative assistance. I'm probably of more use there than in Research, my skill as an alchemist is hardly impressive.
