( A quiet clearing of the throat; one can naturally assume it is a very beautiful clearing of the throat, done by a very beautiful man. )

This matter of the phylacteries for rifters… it seems sensible. If they are such a valuable resource to the Inquisition, the closing of rifts, and so on, being able to find said resource if a rival power were to try and overpower them and abscond with them makes sense, I think. For their own safety, for our own safety. If Corypheus and his forces were, for example, to make an attack on a party closing a rift and kidnap those rifters for nefarious purposes, it would be better for all if we were able to find them as quickly as possible. The phylacteries are an established way of doing just this, no?

By all means, if you wish to see the world end, protest. Even if this is not your world, though, I think we can all agree that you are currently in it. It’s fate is not entirely irrelevant to you.

I'd not realized there were places on this continent the Chantry's influence didn't stretch to. And admittedly glad to hear it - the Chantry has not left me with a good impression thus far.

I'm Iorveth. If you find yourself needing assistance while this policy looms, feel free to call upon me. As for discussion of it, I'd recommend reaching out to Thranduil, as he compiles what options we have now.

[A muted chuckle.] My people -the Avvar- understand, believe me. I didn't come here expecting to be surprised, and I haven't been. Not about the Chantry, anyway.

I'm Skadi Iceblade, of White Wolf Hold, and also the Stablemaster. If you've need of me or just want to say hello, I'm with the mounts most of the time.

What patience you much have in holding your tongue around these people. A talent I've yet to learn. [ because, holy shit, the chantry feels shoved halfway down his throat just stepping into the gallows.

iorveth hear's 'white wolf', and he can't help the short chuckle that leaves him. ]
Forgive me, it's just the same thing my people call one of my dear friends. 'White Wolf', Gwynbleidd in my tongue. Though, if you're Stablemaster here, you've likely met my bird.

The large, obnoxiously green one that prances around the stables.

[ it is literally a lime green, horse-sized chicken. don't ask him, came out of dreamland.]

It's less 'patience' and more 'out of fucks to give'. Why give them the satisfaction of holding my time and attention hostage? I'd rather spend it as I please.

And aye, that I have! Quite a beauty, that one. I've never seen its like, but it's not so different from the other mounts when it comes to care.

Gwyn--[You know what, she'll just stop since there's a 100% chance she'll mispronounce that.] Your friend, is he here?

Because jackasses ought to be held responsible for being jackasses.

[ if it were just a matter of annoyance, yeah, he'd ignore it. but the attitude is something that's crushed others down, subjugated them, enslaved them in this world nearly as much as it has in his own. no one bothers to say anything or push back, and it's assumed it's okay. iorveth doesn't have the stomach for it, or the social filter. ]

Regretfully, no, he is not. Much as I'd prefer it. He has a knack for these sorts of things - both expunging demons and dealing with idiot politicians.

I can't disagree there; Lady knows they don't answer for their actions as much as they should. [She could say that such actions always invite push-back, and sometimes make things worse overall. But far be it for her to discourage someone from fighting back, when she never cared for the lowlander ways of life anyhow.] If you think you can get them to answer for their actions, more power to you. Pull a thread, and maybe some of their rot will unravel. Only one way to find out, eh?

Ah, that's a shame. Still, if someone pops out of a rift calling himself the White Wolf, I've a hold to introduce him to that's bound to be flattered.

I alone am hardly enough to force a people so large as the Chantry to answer for anything, but perhaps, in time, I'll find a means to help.

[ or just incite riots and rebellion, no big deal. more important issues at hand right now, though. ] Should he ever come through, I'll be certain to let you know.

Why had you decided to leave your hold, though, for this place?

Because I love lowlanders so much? No, I have an anchor just like you lot. I was hunting and the bad timing marked me. So, I don't have a choice if I want to live without the pain it brings when separated from the others.
