idk my bff minor vandalism

FORM: Crystal
SENDER: Iorveth
RECIPIENT: All erry1
WHAT: Reacting to this, specifically the part about Rifter phylactaries.
WHEN: Right meow.
WHERE: Kirkwall, the Gallows announcement board
NOTES: Rudeness and vandalism. Open to crystal chatting and action!! Though he'll be storming off pretty fast after this.

[ For a long several moments, silence broadcasts over the crystal, Iorveth having just activated it after reading the announcement on negotiations results posted, lost for words. When they do come, it's like they're being spoken through a snarl. ]

You left to end the blood leashing.

Not push it off on the next lesser group.

[ there is a deafening thud that sounds before Iorveth's voice goes out, and anyone physically standing by the Gallows announcement board will have just witnessed Iorveth pull a dagger (with at least a foot worth of blade on it) free, and slam it through the notice and into the board, metal and splinters jutting out the opposite side, before walking away.

He mad. (And he'll come fix the board later, leave him alone) ]

Agreed wholeheartedly, though it took being outside the Circle to realize that. When you're there from a young age and the Circle is your world, there's a lot you can fail to question. But every mage among the Inquisition has been outside the Circle for years now; they should know better.

You can, of course. [She pauses, considering. The only truly private place is the one she's occupying now.] I have a private room on the sixth floor of the mage tower. If you hear Garahel, you're headed in the right direction.

[You're such a good friend, Iorveth. Garahel happily inhales the jerky, as Inessa hears the knock.]

Of course. Please, enter.

[She pushes her seat back from her desk and moves to stand.]

What do you need?

[Inessa gestures for him to take a seat if he's so inclined, as she mulls over the question. It's not one she's surprised to be asked, given recent events.]

...it's true that traveling with a group of other anchor-bearers will cause the pain to develop more slowly. The more with you, the slower the pain progresses. The maximum length of time someone could be away could be away with a smaller group that included at least one other rifter would be a month. Closing rifts would also provide temporary relief.

The Inquisition has moved forces to the Western Approach, the Dales and so on in the past. Anchor-bearers were a part of that because there were so many of them together than the onset of pain is effectively slowed to a stop. This has not been tested long-term away from an Inquisition base, but -hypothetically- it is possible.

Of course, that would depend on nearly everyone being in agreement, which I can't guarantee even now. But if the proposal evolves into more than that, I can see further protests.

You're quite welcome. [Inessa smiles wryly.] I'm no longer in a position of leadership, but I'm willing to share what is available to me. It's your anchor, after all; you deserve to know the details.

You have a powerful resource that the Inquisition needs, it's true. But you should be able to determine your own fate, just as the mages. If the leadership chooses not to respect that, perhaps a strike of another sort is in order.

[That reaction has caught Inessa by surprise, that stoic expression slipping and for a moment she doesn't know what to say. There had been a brief moment after her statements over the crystal, where she had wondered if she had gone too far. She had been one of the strikers, after all, and amnesty was granted...that time. What would happen if she continued to voice her strong opinion on the matter of phylacteries? But that moment of wondering was just a moment. She had meant her statements and would stand by them, whatever the consequences.]

Thank you, Iorveth. [Her tone is quiet, touched, and she offers a genuine smile.]

I'll remember that, when it's needed. I am not completely without ties to those who bear anchors; a few are very important to me, and I worry for their freedom as well as overall fate. Whatever happens to them will always be my concern. I refuse to have my own freedom traded for theirs.
