[ For a long several moments, silence broadcasts over the crystal, Iorveth having just activated it after reading the announcement on negotiations results posted, lost for words. When they do come, it's like they're being spoken through a snarl. ]
You left to end the blood leashing.
Not push it off on the next lesser group.
[ there is a deafening thud that sounds before Iorveth's voice goes out, and anyone physically standing by the Gallows announcement board will have just witnessed Iorveth pull a dagger (with at least a foot worth of blade on it) free, and slam it through the notice and into the board, metal and splinters jutting out the opposite side, before walking away.
He mad. (And he'll come fix the board later, leave him alone) ]
action;
So is that what it is? A leash?
[He didn't know what they were, only that mages carried them.]
What does it have to do with us?

[ Iorveth explains as he walks, headed in the direction of the division leaders offices. ]
In the event that a mage goes rogue, or escapes, they're used to track them down and drag them back to their cages.
[ When Iorveth first arrived here, he'd idly wondered at what would be done if Rifters simply told the Inquisition 'no' when they were asked to help. Now he knows. ]
no subject
[He stops walking with him for a moment, shock quickly shifting to fury as he moves back to Iorveth's side while they head towards the division leader's offices.]
How do they plan on getting blood? By force?
[Yeah that's going to go over so well.]
no subject
[ land, resources, thrones, religious conversion. your species are kind of assholes, kylo. ]
It's only proposed as of yet. [ Iorveth tells him as he walks, in a lower, quieter voice. ] Whether or not our prospects look bright, we should use the time to plan, and organize.
We aren't their weak-spined city elves, or their soft spoken mages. Let the priestesses and Templars try.
no subject
Why even propose it at all? They had to know that none of us would agree to it.
[It was like inciting unrest without even caring. He liked the way Iorveth was thinking on all this but his only focus was on Rey and where they would go. They weren't staying here if this came to pass. He would talk her into it if he had to.]
They can't just take it by force.
[He says it but he knows that it's entirely possible. He's seen the First Order take what they wanted by force, been a helping hand to it as well. Still, he clung to some hope that, if they tried, it wouldn't be without a fight. He had no idea how the midichlorians in his blood or Rey's and Obi-Wan's would even react if they did take it.]
Who are you going to talk to?
[While they're headed to the division leaders, at any rate.]
no subject
[ not becauss they're more in number, or more powerful. Because they are finite but vital resources. ]
Our existence, what dark magic brought us here, and the fact we remain the most reliable means to combat it. [ Iorveth postulates on it while they walk. Of course, he isn't privy to any more information than the rest of them, but that's how he's currently reading the board. ] Leaving the weapon that will spare the apocalypse in possession of free will and autonomy is a risk many are too cowardly and too cruel to take.
[ they'll call it protecting their people from potentially dangerous elements, a policy to see that Thedas isn't overlooked in favor of refugees. Take the small bad some do and call it monumentally, even in the face of all the service and sacrifice that has been given already. Really, it's just another way for man to conquer something different. Humanity cannot suffer an uncontrolled element to exist.
A beat, and he looks back to Kylo, shrugging. ]
Or they're just conniving shits looking to guilt the mages back into their cages by having us stand in their place.
I'm going to Thranduil.
no subject
Even if the mages went back to their cage, we'd still be a target.
[He doesn't have to tell Iorveth that.]
We aren't trusted, despite giving positions of power. It's just another form of making us posture for them. Giving us promises dangled on a stick.
[His thoughts shift to Rey immediately. She'd tried to hard and took pride in her work. People knew her well, knew her name. If he walked into that office he'd be putting her work in jeopardy.]
I- I can't go with you if you're going to storm his office.
[He feels surprised by his own admission because if he didn't have her to think about he would go in without a second thought and probably choke the life out of anyone who tried to stop him.]
