[ For a long several moments, silence broadcasts over the crystal, Iorveth having just activated it after reading the announcement on negotiations results posted, lost for words. When they do come, it's like they're being spoken through a snarl. ]
You left to end the blood leashing.
Not push it off on the next lesser group.
[ there is a deafening thud that sounds before Iorveth's voice goes out, and anyone physically standing by the Gallows announcement board will have just witnessed Iorveth pull a dagger (with at least a foot worth of blade on it) free, and slam it through the notice and into the board, metal and splinters jutting out the opposite side, before walking away.
He mad. (And he'll come fix the board later, leave him alone) ]

You say this as if there's any chance we'll comply.

private ;
Our choice of compliance will mean nothing to them, it's the way of Men. If they want blood, they'll need to pay with blood. The rest of us need to be prepared for that inevitability, should this proposal pass.

[ Aro doesn't intend to start this fight, but if they suppose he'll bend over while they do this to him, they have another thing coming. ]
Re: permaprivate
Hopefully such a blood letting won't be needed.

We'll see. They've done it to others already, so it's clear where their morality about that lies. These people seem to distrust rifters, mages, and anyone with elf blood, and I'm all three of them.
[ Honestly is anyone really surprised he wants to leave? He didn't like being beholden to the Inquisition even before phylacteries were on the table. ]
Tell me honestly, what chance do you think we have of resolving this peacefully?

[ you’re going to be screwed either way, for a while, sorry, Aro. ]
If we’re speaking from what I know of such things happening in my world, none. Negotiations are lip-service. But here? Who knows. [ he doesn’t know this place and these people well enough to say. ]

This started when the mages went to negotiate, and instead of getting rid of their own phylacteries, they saw ours put on the table as well.
If these people won't deal fairly with their own, why would they do it with us? Can we even trust that they're not listening to us right now?

[ said pointedly, the meaning there being 'so keep anything that could get a noose around your neck to in-person conversations'. ]
Much as I doubt the mages cared what consequence it brought to us, neither do I truly believe they meant for the trade to happen thus. [ he's done his bitching at the mages already. they aren't the source of this problem, and he knows that, annoying as it is. ] They will not treat us fairly, or play by any set of rules we might assume.
If we're to protect ourselves, we need to be smarter than them.
