They look like shoes, at least, but they're not leather, or anything. They're brightly coloured and weirdly shiny. Look like they might have good traction? Ugly, shiny, squeaky shoes, I think. The frogs tipped the balance. Although there's definitely something to be said for a good squelching about barefoot in the mud.
