NOTES:These threads are made for jacking, and that's just what they'll do. One of these days these threads are gonna yeah okay never mind.

Inquisition! We have for you a list of nominees for your Satinalia Fools. We say Fools, plural, because we have many fine nominees and two crowns - we think they may be crowns. We removed them from the heads of statues in some temple or another. Perhaps they were symbols of shame rather than nobility? None of us is qualified to say, but the statues were very small compared to some others, and - [ an abrupt end to the rambling ] - we will assume they are close enough to crowns to crown Fools. Valentine has been testing them and looks very Foolish.

Two Fools, then. If they cannot cooperate we will give each one half of the courtyard during the festivities and they may, éventuellement, stage a battle between their kingdoms.

We have placed a box outside the tavern where you can place the name of the nominee you wish to support. Please only choose once. The Maker does not endorse cheating. If you do not believe in the Maker then whatever you do believe in likely does not endorse cheating, either, though, again, none of us is qualified to say. If you believe in a god that does endorse cheating, please find it in your own heart to practice restraint.

[Hm? Someone nominated him for this? Well he honestly has no idea what is going on because he's never even heart of Satinalia before but...]

I suppose I could say things for myself but in truth I am impressed so much was said of me when they are so breathless over me.

I was trained in combat and have fought many a battle! Were you wanting to see more of them?

[degenere]

You seem a figure of legend, I cannot say no. But, then again--do you want to win one of these crowns?

[conqueredhearts]

Why not? I freely confess that I am a great fool. Why not be a King of them? Then I suppose all would have great opportunity to behold my muscles as you have!

[degenere]

But then we must ask: is there anything foolish about a man that looks as if he could tear you apart with his bare hands?

[conqueredhearts]

Why would there not be? Fools come in many forms, my friend. Even the wonderfully intelligent can still be foolish.

[He laughs again.]

What better than a man with a body that can seem to inspire fear but who laughs at himself while he laughs with others?

A dancing bear, if you are truly asking my opinion. And you don't need to tell me of the foolery of the intelligent. I am well aware. I studied under some very great fools.

Ah but are you one yourself? I should hope something took by studying under them!

[degenere]

Well. I am wearing one of the crowns now.

But largely as practice. I should not like for anyone to think that we might be rigging this vote in some way. Any one could be named the Fool. You don't need to have studied at a university.

[conqueredhearts]

Well I would not know enough about this to know if the voting is rigged as you say! [He chuckles.]

If others are crowned the Fool rather than I then this will be enjoyable for me as well. It seems a good celebration no matter who wears the crown and I look forward to it!

What a spirit you have, monsieur! We could make you your own crown, if you lose.

I would wear it proudly. As one should always wear any crown presented.

Ha! Then should I win I shall be sure to wear the title proudly and with an abundance of laughter!

This isn't even one of my traditions. But you make me smile. You'd be good.

That's definitely a unique attitude. Most who are foolish don't admit to it.

Not all recognize their foolishness. I have known since I was but a boy.

I'll bite. How did you realize?

[conqueredhearts]

I suppose it was during a day I was training with my friend and someone was angry with him. They went to attack him and I moved in the way to take the blow.

[He laughs a bit.]

I woke up three days later and he punched me for doing something like that when I was so small.

[justice_is_blond]

...He punched you as soon as you woke up? I'm of the opinion that the both of you may have been foolish there. But at least you were foolish in a good way.

He was rather worried about me and furious that I would do such a thing.

Probably because it was a blade I took.

Deflecting the blade, blocking it, those are sensible. Taking it, not as much.
