Hello Inquisition, and hello especially to all the new Rifters who showed up yesterday! My name is Adalia, and I have a few points of order I wanted to let everyone know about.

First off, you will periodically see a baby dragon out and about in the Gallows! That would be my charge, Charis. Say hello, dear.

( there's a trilling call from the crystal this time, the sound going up and down in pitch — like an imitation of the word "hello" from a creature who can't actually say it. )

Please don't try to kill or otherwise harass him. He isn't a native dragon, I brought him through the rift with me as an egg, and the dragons where I'm from are both intelligent and rather friendly! He'd love to meet you, if you come say hello in good faith, and I promise you will not leave the meeting worse for wear.

Secondly! I have welcome packets for new Rifters I've been working on. They aren't particularly fancy yet, but included is a glossary of terms you need to be familiar with in order to carry on conversation here in Thedas, a map of the world as it is currently understood, and a short introduction to the various factions and politics at play at present. In the future I'll try to do more, but it's only been two months since I got here so this was as much as I could get done when I'm making the things myself. If you would like one, please stop by the Gallows library, look for the lady with curly blonde hair accompanied by a dragon, and simply ask! I will provide.

( a clapping noise, and she sounds even more excited now. )

Lastly, and most excitingly personally, I've figured out how to make a couple of the things I could make in my home here in Thedas! If you have need of a sleep aid, perimeter alerts, or a hangover remedy, I'd be happy to provide, either for money or trade. Feel free to find me in the library or get in touch with me over crystal if you're interested!

I'll come visit if Charis promises not to chew my boot laces again! I'm thinking of building myself a little pleasure craft though, and knowing the mood amongst some folk towards us Rifters here... how do those perimeter things work?

Charis makes no such promises, friend. He is a free spirit, and will do as he wills!

( which is to say, adalia will have a talk with him about chewing on boot laces, and will try to impress upon him that they are not for chewing. he's a dragon, though, so who know how he'll take that. )

Oh, spark gravel! You lay it about 200 feet from where you'll be, and when someone steps on it, it goes off. There's a noise, but that's only audible if you're right next to it or if you're somewhere sound carries. The light is what's really helpful, it's visible anywhere you can have line of sight. It's most helpful for camping at night, but I might be able to doctor it for a louder sound if you need that?

[ Elros clutches dramatically at his heart ]

Charis, you would not be so cruel as to make me buy another set of laces, surely? [ he calls out cheerfully, before turning his attention back to Adalia, nodding as he follows along ]

Ah, I see. I was wondering more if it could warn me all the way back in town! I don't worry so much about when I am there - Maglor is usually with me and the rest visit.

( a trilling noise from some distance away — whether it's an affirmative or a negative is unclear. )

Ah, no, I don't have anything like that... Although, hm... I have a friend who lays glyphs all around the Gallows so that they ping when he's near and he can get around more easily, maybe he might have some ideas?

[ Elros will take what he can get. And bribe Charis with sweets the next time he visits.

I haven't seen you since that heavy snowfall. And the... you know. Thing.

I can, I'll see what he has to say. It's a good idea to secure your things when you can't be around to watch them yourself.

Heh, it's not much of a ship! More like a large raft with sails? A tiny rowboat? Wood's pretty expensive!
