Inquisition, hello.

[ It's a friendly-enough voice, sort of husky without being unusually low, the common tongue spoken with the generic pronunciation favored by Circle tutors and just a hint of a muddled accent that's difficult to place beyond Northern. ]

My name is Nell, and I've only recently joined your ranks here in Kirkwall. I'd heard that the Inquisition's mages governed themselves through some sort of council, but I've yet to see hide or hair of it here. Was that only a rumor? I've heard quite a lot of rumors about the Inquisition's mages, it's not always easy to pick out the truth.

I suppose my real question is what is the status of mages here, exactly? And Templars, since I've see some about already? I'm eager to help the Inquisition in its fight, but I do like to know what I'm getting myself into.

Lucky for us! [No trace of sarcasm; it's good the Inquisition is growing.] No, it's--what is it, it's just Harvestmere, isn't it? It's been a little over two months. So, [his tone takes a turn for the amused,] maybe you'll want a grain of salt with my assessment of the state of things.

[He trusts easily, he knows.]

Well, I'll take it as a strong first impression, at least.

[ he can probably hear the smile in her voice, friendly amusement. but yeah no two months means...basically nothing sorry Myr ]

What is it that you do here?

[he's a baby but a baby with heart, that counts for something, right??]

Research, primarily--into the rifts and the anchor shards. Chantry relations. A little bit of beekeeping on the side; if you're interested in a share of honey next year, I can always use help with that last one. [Only halfway teasing, there.]

[galvanising]

[ it's always nice to see someone the Circles didn't break :) ]

[ Nell laughs lightly, surprised. ] Beekeeping? That doesn't quite go with the rest, does it?

[Grinning,] All right, it's more of a hobby than strictly Inquisition business, but no one's complaining about the honey. Keeps me in practice with the more finicky bits of creation magic besides.

On that thought--d'you have in mind what you'll be doing here with the Inquisition?

Really, you use magic for it? Interesting.

[ often when people say interesting they actually mean the opposite, but nell seems genuine. as for her own plans, well. ]

You mentioned you were involved in a chantry-related project? I'd be curious to hear more about that. What does it do, exactly?

Easier and safer for all involved--I don't get stung nearly so much and fewer of them die.

Chantry relations? [A brief amused laugh.] For all the time I've been here, allay Kirkwall's fears over a new forest appearing in Hightown. Otherwise, smooth the relationship between the Chantry and the Inquisition--it's grown well beyond Divine Justinia's original commission, and [lightly,] recruited support from many the Chantry wouldn't ordinarily have truck with. That's enough to give rumors of heresy their legs. So--we do what we can to quiet them.

Ser Coupe would be a better person to ask than I am about the rest of it.

[galvanising]

Ser Coupe's explanation went a little over my head, to be honest. [ She chuckles, lightly, self-deprecating. ] It seemed very abstract. Yours is more clear. I'm interested in maybe getting involved, in between my other work, but I'd love to hear more about what you actually do. What does smoothing the relationship with the Chantry involve? Just meeting people and hoping to persuade them?

["Very abstract". He smiles to himself at that; that's exactly so with Ser Coupe, isn't it?

(Perhaps that's not a good thing.)]

We'd be glad to have the help if you can spare the time. And it's largely that--being as persuasive as we can about the importance of our mission, answering questions, handling concerns. There's more we could be doing, I'm sure, but with the Inquisition being a separate entity from the Chantry there's [how to put it,] reasons for us to keep our distance.
