CRYSTAL - ota

FORM: Crystal

RECIPIENT: All
WHAT: Hello, Inquisition. Nell is here to stir up your mage business. :]

Inquisition, hello.

[ It's a friendly-enough voice, sort of husky without being unusually low, the common tongue spoken with the generic pronunciation favored by Circle tutors and just a hint of a muddled accent that's difficult to place beyond Northern. ]

My name is Nell, and I've only recently joined your ranks here in Kirkwall. I'd heard that the Inquisition's mages governed themselves through some sort of council, but I've yet to see hide or hair of it here. Was that only a rumor? I've heard quite a lot of rumors about the Inquisition's mages, it's not always easy to pick out the truth.

I suppose my real question is what is the status of mages here, exactly? And Templars, since I've see some about already? I'm eager to help the Inquisition in its fight, but I do like to know what I'm getting myself into.

[ she doesnt bother to confirm. It's its own answer, on both sides. ]

Coupe. [ the girl knows her title, let what she chooses to use shed a little necessary light on this ] I am within most evenings.

There is nothing foolish of it. The relationship is necessarily reciprocral. We are in a transitional period; to aid the Inquisition, her allies must be strong, no?

[ is that vague enough for ya ]

Would you care to see the lists?

[ it's not dry as it could be. that they wouldn't be her private lists — well. nell's been careful to offer exceedingly little to this point. ]

There will be a new Divine. It would not do for them to dissolve us overnight.

[ violently or otherwise. their mandate beneath justinia is strained at best, the next needs every reason to trust they'll not rise up against living leadership. private armies staffed by mages and riddled with rumours of demons,

you take who you can get.

That decision rests with the clerics; holy women are not so easily-swayed. [ ha. ha. ] The Inquisition will support their choice. Better we show the righteousness of our cause, that her approval is no question.

I am afraid I cannot place your accent, Mme. Nell. [ northern. circle. but there's a lot of north — ] How have you found the Marches?

I am inclined to agree — [ look, everyone needs a hobby. hers is currently 'shuffling through my shitty medieval rolodex to try and figure out who might still be alive to press for info' ] — Dashing heroics sound dreadfully tiring.

Corypheus and his followers are not the only ills which besiege us. It is difficult to worry over the storm on the horizon, when one's own fields are burning. [ almost as difficult as not speaking in obscure metaphors ] We must spread word of the Inquisition's work, and see that our allies are in position to receive it.
