here comes the new boss, definitely not the same as the old boss
FORM: Crystal.
SENDER: Petrana de Cedoux.
RECIPIENT: Everyone.
WHAT: New boss introduces herself.
WHEN: Now
WHERE: Kirkwall
NOTES: division page!

NOTES: division page!
Good evening - my name is Madame de Cedoux, ( she is not in the habit of giving out her first name, given the blithe tendency of so many to casually throw those around when they have them, ) and henceforth I shall be taking over as head of division for diplomacy from Mssr Trask. All affairs that were previously passing through him, I will now be overseeing; please speak with me if any matters are pressing. I am, as some of you may be aware, from beyond the rifts; I can only allow my work to speak for itself on my readiness for this position.
( She'd considered making this message for the division alone, but given the work - and the fact she's relatively sure at least one of her project leaders is seconded from another division - it's probably better to broadly introduce herself and narrow it down as necessary from there. )
At earliest convenience I would also like to speak with Mademoiselle Bonaventura and Mssr Elris. If I am not in my office, please contact me by crystal to arrange a meeting.

Perhaps it's his angling in that direction that's caught his new superior's attention. Or perhaps he's done something to merit reprimand, though for once he can't think of any trouble he's caused in recent memory.
In any case, if the new bosslady says she wants him in her office, he'll be there--but it can't hurt to ask.]
Madame de Cedoux. Enchanter Vandelin here. [It's not a correction, or at least it doesn't have the tone of one, but hey, now the title and its traditional nomenclature just happen to be out there.]
First of all, congratulations on the new position; it'll be a pleasure to work with you. Might I ask what this meeting concerns?
private β
( The Circles, they remain somewhat obscure. Already he makes himself useful! How convenient. )
I wish to discuss a position that I have been led to believe ( she's definitely been paying attention to who was positioning themselves where ) may suit you. If it's convenient, you might join me now?
private/action
Of course. I'll be right over.
[He has not specified a more exact timeframe for that, the better to cover for the fact that he doesn't quite know where to find her office, but all is well in the end, and he is eventually knocking on her door. He has never, to his knowledge, met a rifter before. This is exciting.]

Greetings, Madame de Cedoux. I am Beleth Ashara, Head of Scouting. It is a pleasure to make your acquaintance, and I look forward to working together with you.

( And project leader for something under Petrana's...his interest in which and her interest in learning about dwarves had been what originally acquainted the two of them, setting the stage for the business with Artemaeus. A neat bit of maneuvering all around; she expects her recent handling of the Tevinters to be not unrelated to approval of her request to take this role from Trask.
Round and round and round we go. God be praised for competent help, and so many fewer than she's used to holding knives behind their backs. )

He is, indeed. He's proven to be an exemplary member of my division, and I'm sure that he will continue to be so in his new role.

[SeΓ±or Elris isn't someone she knows but someone she'll get to know through this (and in her own time too now, that never hurts.)]

That will be ideal, Mlle Bonaventura. I look forward to it.

But then she looks at the state of everything lately, of the frustrations, the setbacks, the disappointments, the distinct lack and so Araceli arrives looking like she does in her office which is generally not how Kirkwall-formerly-Skyhold is ever used to seeing her and she thinks that no. She's well within her rights to be pleased about it.
Good timing for her new clothes to arrive from Orlais, for her to have put one on this morning as she knocks on the door and she smoothes out the front (inspects her hands a final time to make sure there really is no ink staining them somewhere) as she waits outside.]

I have been appointed the leader to the Rifts and the Veil project, myself. When time permits, I would be interested in speaking with you regarding your division and my own. I wish to expand on what information has been gathered and believe diplomacy will be key in doing so.

( She remembers the former division head - she'll have to acquaint herself with whoever's taken over, in case of more of that personnel-sharing she mentioned with Beleth. )
Re: private β
[Not self-pitying, just acknowledging what exists.]
This is a particular issue in Orlais, where also exists a great university, probably the best collection of scholarship in the south. The shards may be a new phenomenon, but I suspect some are already studying them. Aside from that, they will have recorded knowledge about the Veil...and since the Circles have fallen and their knowledge scattered, it may be our best opportunity to learn more.

My congratulations as well, madame!

I thank you, Mssr Shivana. I believe it is where I can do the most good.

And while he hardly needs my endorsement, Enchanter Vandelin will be brilliant at whatever you set him to.

She is small, but decisive. )
We must become better acquainted, no?

[Everybody else is, though condolences kind of seem more appropriate to her with all that paperwork. She and Josephine, weirdly enough, were actually pretty good friends before the move.]
Name's Avery. I'm Head Cook round here, so... [She trails off a moment and shrugs, though obviously that's not communicated well via audio.] Any trouble with the kitchens or big events or guests or somesuch come up, you know who to find.
[Read: Don't bother reaching out to the Seneschal first. He's a useless lump and will just slow the whole thing down before handing the responsibility over to Avery anyway.]
