Hello everyone!

[So cheerful, so very cheerful. Why is she so cheerful all the time? What is in that darkspawn blood anyways?]

So I wanted to let everyone know who was interested in helping me with the Kirkwall Library project that we are good to go, and we can start immediately. I myself am going to head down in about an hour, so anyone who still wants to go and do some really fascinating research in the old basements of the Kirkwall Library? Are welcome to join me.

Just drop me a line and I'll put you on the list.

I remain interested, of course.

I'll bring the tea, as promised. And Garahel deserves some playtime, to properly wear him down.

[Cue eager barking.]

I wouldn't mind joining you, Bethany.

[It's a good opportunity to continue with his reading practice, he figures.]

You’re welcome… I’ve admittedly been too preoccupied lately to continue much lately, but I would like to resume where we last left off.

What exactly does this project entail? Just general research, or is there a specific goal?

I tend to study the rifts when I can, but there aren't exactly a large store of books on the subject. But researching Corypheus is every bit as important, perhaps more so, depending on who you speak to. So if you need another pair of eyes, I'd be happy to help.

Is there a reason no one's gone there in so long? Especially given the state of the Veil here and the effect a bit of research could have on potentially strengthening it?

[There is, she's sure of it, and as is the case with the rest of Kirkwall, it's likely not a reason she wants to hear.]

... that sounds chaotic! I understand that there were more pressing matters to see to, but if new books could keep coming in, then surely there had to be an archivist of sorts that could keep a record of the books that were being locked away!

[And then, because of course the thought strikes her:]

I can do that. I'll make a list of all the books by title and author, and make it available to whoever is in charge of the library. I can even organize them by topic and shelve them together to make them easier to sort through. It's worth knowing so another group won't have to spend days combing through it all in the vague hope of finding something they might need.

I'm familiar with him. I technically work under his leadership, though we've only had one proper conversation. I'll speak to him about it, since there's no point in doing double work in the event that he's already assigned someone to work on that. I can at least assist that person, whoever they might be.

But as for this particular project, if you still need someone else to help you pore over books, I'll be glad to help. As a rifter self-taught in your written language, perhaps I'll pick up on something that others may have missed, or at least ask after something that might make you look at it in a different light.

Hello. I'm sorry, I just burst in without properly introducing myself. I'm Hermione. I've been in Thedas a little over a year, so I'm almost sure we must have crossed paths at some point.

It sounds like the sort of place I can find relatively easily, with minimal help from strangers.

Oh! You must be a friend of Anders. He'd told me about you, a while back. He said we might get on. It's nice to finally meet you... or your voice, at any rate.

We'll meet properly soon, then. I just find an unused notebook or some parchment and be on my way.

I am of course still interested.

Would it be weird for you if we could track down Varric's books?

[personal profile] samahl 2017-06-25 04:54 am (UTC)(link)

Well, that's true. But if we had them in our library then people could potentially be reading about you, couldn't they?

I'd be interested in any reason to explore parts of the library I haven't seen.

[And, more importantly, to prove his usefulness when it comes to books written in the language he can sorta-kinda read now. But he's not going to say that in so many words.]
