Is there anyone available who's skilled in rebuilding and reparations? I have a... project of sorts, that I could use a hand with.

[He normally wouldn’t care very much about this, but the rift and demons left even worse damage than usual in the aftermath. Cobwebs are all well and good, but this time it got out of hand. The last thing he needs is for the whole mansion to collapse suddenly.]

I can offer drinks as compensation.

Likewise, for those who aided in clearing the place out... I owe you for your efforts. You may feel free to visit the mansion, or meet me at the Hanged Man. [Yes, somehow that place has become oddly comforting to return to in its way. It's frightening, really.]

I was wondering how bad you were going to let it get before you did anything. Sure, I'll be there. Energizing stuff will make it go a lot faster, trust me. Magic isn't just for tearing shit up, it can be useful here too.

To think I'd actually accept the use of more magic to clear up the damage caused initially by magic... there's a certain sense of irony there. But as long as you can get the job done.

I would be cautious, though, in case so much magic in the air doesn’t inadvertently open another rift… or so I assume that was the cause for the one that erupted during the fight.

Magic doesn't open rifts, but I wouldn't worry anyway; the fact that we sealed that other one means the Veil should be strong enough.

That’s a relief. The last thing I need are a bunch of demons attacking my best wine.

What actually causes these rifts, anyway? I gathered as much about them being tears in the veil, but have those researching learned much of the underlying cause?

[At least the damn things can be closed. He’s never been so grateful to see one of those shards.]

From what I know, it was Corypheus' doing. An ancient orb or whatever created the Breach, which created all the other rifts. It's not an ongoing thing; what we find is what there is, period. There just happens to be a shit-ton of them.

You'll have to ask the rifts project more about that, though. I'm more focused on naval stuff and the north.

Now, I'll not say as I've the ability to move things like some other folks can, but I know how to use a hammer as well as any man, and I've helped rebuild things a time or two over the years. Think that'll do for that project of yours?

That will more than suffice. That’s how I intend to approach it, so I’d be glad to take up your offer. How do you feel about rooftop repairs?

So long as I've not got to worry about holding onto the edge and trying not to fall off then I've no problem with them.

[While there may be a touch of wryness underlying the words, he does mean them. Heights have never really been that much of an issue for him.]

Don't think that'll be anything to worry about, though, unless you think there'll be some monsters turning up in the middle of things.

I’m glad to hear you’ll be able to manage... The damage may take a few days to repair.

[More monsters. That thought makes Fenris darkly amused in some way, though he also knows it’d be just his luck to have something like that happen after everything else that went down. Best not to push his luck.]

After all of the blood magic and demons that descended on the place, I’d hope there won’t be more of the same. There had better not be.

Aye, well, if there's one thing I've learned, it's that monsters'll turn up when you least expect them.

That's a worthwhile expression for life overall. The monsters are always lurking out there, always waiting, wherever one goes.

[Even once they take care of Corypheus himself, there will always be more monsters. For as long as Tevinter exists, there will always be monsters. There's no real escaping it.]

Yes, that's entirely why the repairs are needed. Between the rift spilling out demons, and the magister who'd been living there... we had a difficult battle on hand.

I can't imagine that there are more mansions occupied by awful magisters, just waiting to be kicked out. Otherwise, we might well have become neighbors. Still, there are bound to be possibilities somewhere in the city. What about your family's estate?

As charming as the scorch marks and blood are, I can see how that would discourage visitors. [Not that he exactly wants to encourage them all the time, but well. It's worth considering.] I would appreciate your assistance on that matter.

I have helped out before. My experience is mostly new, however. Not many houses in a Dalish camp.
