(no subject)

FORM: Crystal
SENDER: Fenris
RECIPIENT: Everyone!
WHAT: It's so much fun to be back!?
WHEN: Nowish
WHERE: Kirkwall
NOTES: No warnings.

I never thought I would return to live in this city, of all places.

[Fenris sounds less than thrilled. But he’s at least trying out this ‘communication’ thing for once. Varric would be so proud.]

How do you know when you’re truly home? What makes that different from merely a place where you happen to live?

[Honestly curious here. He’d once thought he’d almost come close to that before in Kirkwall, but at the moment, he’s not so sure. Maybe there’s just something... off... about returning to a place after a long time away. So much changes and yet remains the same all at once.]

You look up one day, and you realize you are in a place which used to mean something to you — and does not any longer. It was home, and now there must be another.

When you find yourself thinking of it, rather than feeling? Dispassion indicates distance. Such things grow.

Perhaps. We are different people, within different contexts, no? Sometimes such change comes swift. Do you consider Kirkwall home, Monsieur?

It matters to you that it be one or the other.

[ else he wouldn't have bothered to pose the question at all ]
