Good evening, everyone. My name is Josephine Montilyet and I am the Ambassador for the Inquisition. I've not had the pleasure of meeting as many of you as would like personally, so... I thought this might be an easier, more - ah - approachable way of getting to know each other better.

( She clears her throat as though to prevent herself from rambling. )

I must confess I do not know where to start. Perhaps a conversational ice-breaker will have to do. ( So much for not rambling. ) What do you miss most about your life before the Inquisition?

I met her at Weisshaupt when we were all stuck there. [ When everything was going to hell. ]

It wasn't a great time then but I'm glad I met her. Her and Garahel, of course.

You could always cut back, improve upon their efficiency. I had to have started with two and now I've the one.

[ She laughs. ] Sure is! He's pretty great.

[Casually, calmly:]

No. Though I daresay it was probably better than Detlef.

I'm half convinced I should sign up for some scouting mission or something just for a few days without snow.

[Said sarcastically, of course.]

[sheriffing]

You mean aside from our families, our friends, and our lives in general?

[Sorry, it's a sore spot. She can take it down to one thing, that's easy - but it also reminds her of how much she misses him.]

My son.

I only hope he can live up to his name.

You cannot know that for certain. It is not a bad name, all things considered.

[theproperglove]

( Oh. Well, she should have anticipated that she'd get several responses like these. )

If I may ask, where is he now?

[sheriffing]

He's back in Storybrooke, with the rest of my family.

[Where he should be, she thinks. Where she should be, too.]

It's not. Not that it particularly matters. What I'm called is too known; even if I was to find out my name I can't see it being used.

( That doesn't sound like any place in Thedas she knows so she goes out on a limb and assumes: )

Ah. You are a rifter, I take it?

You don't think some people would make the effort to change to a name you'd prefer?

[justice_is_blond]

I think some would. And I think others would see it as an attempt to escape and my day-to-day life would get more difficult.

If people care to call me something other than Anders, I'll be glad of it, but I won't push for it.

[theproperglove]

What would you prefer to be called? Detlef, or some other name?

And does the Inquisition have this in enough supply to spare a glass for me?

I've not given it a great deal of thought, truth be told. But likely Detlef. It's Anders and far more mine than this.

[And not given to him by Templars.]

I cannot imagine that. To not want to know what's out there. But all our tales are that we came from the sea, we built atop the ruins from below, and some of our truest sailors are called Sons of the Sea. [A small sigh escapes her, not wholly sad the way she sometimes is but still full of longing.]

Do you know why so few share your curiosity?

If there is not anyone to catch your eye then you can hardly be considered unsuccessful.

( Still, perhaps Josie can imagine the way Leliana is scrutinising the crystal. )

To settle matters without bloodshed is a skill to be admired. It suggests an honour and kindness not often expected of politicians.

I am, with a little experience in tumbling into different worlds.

Oh, I don't know about that. I'd wager you could talk your way out of a lot of things if you needed to. And for the rest you'd just need someone who'd be willing come face the odd bear or other beastie that'd not be swayed by that sort of thing.

[It's meant to be a compliment, and hopefully she'll take it as one, even though he says it fairly off-handedly.]

I'd be willing to do that if you ever needed someone, you know. Just in case the mood strikes you and you want to get away from Skyhold for a wee bit.
