This is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I apologize for the delay in doing so, but I'd like to make an announcement; I've been appointed as the liason for the Rifter population.

For this reason, if you have a concern about a particular Rifter which cannot be peacefully resolved on your own, or if any Rifter has need of information, or support, please don't hesitate to contact me. I know we may not seem like any kind of cohesive group, but you aren't alone. Please, try to remember that.

[He clears his throat, then and continues.]

As for the rest of you, I have a question. Nothing too serious, just a little... oh, call it a thought-exercise: I first heard this one as a child.

Here, I've not yet seen it. ( a frank, wry answer. ) Where I came from, ( distinct from 'home' as a specific memory, ) it is gone.

It's a question I intend to answer when these affairs are settled. Not in too great a hurry, though, as I've given my word to Merrill there are lighter adventures yet to come.

( although very little 'being difficult' can be put past martel, it isn't a purposefully evasive answer so much as a slightly philosophical one; where shall he claim, the estate he burned down years after it was taken from him, the nation that exiled him, the mother-house of the knights that regret only they waited too long to kill him?
