This is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I apologize for the delay in doing so, but I'd like to make an announcement; I've been appointed as the liason for the Rifter population.

For this reason, if you have a concern about a particular Rifter which cannot be peacefully resolved on your own, or if any Rifter has need of information, or support, please don't hesitate to contact me. I know we may not seem like any kind of cohesive group, but you aren't alone. Please, try to remember that.

[He clears his throat, then and continues.]

As for the rest of you, I have a question. Nothing too serious, just a little... oh, call it a thought-exercise: I first heard this one as a child.

If your house was on fire, what's the first thing you'd take out of it?

I wish I could offer my help organizing such a meeting, but as you say; I'm surely about to drown in squabbling and disputes. Thank you, for taking the responsibility on yourself, ah-- Church, was it?

Araceli mentioned those before. Perhaps if we had a set meeting time, every month? Or a particular place. Then, even if something happened to one of us, the tradition could conceivably live on.

I mean, I was thinking the tavern, get a little room up there we can have once a month like noon...ish. Maybe one of our meetings could be about someone making a wristwatch sundial so people can tell the time.

Man, don't I know it. I miss guns. And spaceships. And microwaves. And indoor plumbing. And high-tech armor with a sweet HUD. If we get enough brainiacs here, we could probably cobble together some basic modern tech, right? I mean...gunpowder. And electricity? Maybe we should start with steam power first.

And speeders. I have nothing against horses, mind you, but it's hardly what you call efficient travel. Give me a vehicle, one with an engine.
