This is Obi-Wan Kenobi. I apologize for the delay in doing so, but I'd like to make an announcement; I've been appointed as the liason for the Rifter population.

For this reason, if you have a concern about a particular Rifter which cannot be peacefully resolved on your own, or if any Rifter has need of information, or support, please don't hesitate to contact me. I know we may not seem like any kind of cohesive group, but you aren't alone. Please, try to remember that.

[He clears his throat, then and continues.]

As for the rest of you, I have a question. Nothing too serious, just a little... oh, call it a thought-exercise: I first heard this one as a child.

If your house was on fire, what's the first thing you'd take out of it?

Then how do you get more Jedi?

Many talented children don't have families financially capable of supporting them. Many families consider it an honor to have a child receive an offer to go to the temple. More than once, young Jedi have been rescued out of slavery, before deciding to stay on as a trainee-- or are orphaned. Younglings can come from any species, any race, any people or situation, provided they're willing and able to embrace the Jedi teachings.

Don't really need much apart from the clothes on my back. ( A pause before continuing. ) I guess if I had the time I'd bring some food with me. Makes things easier.

It means 'tree of the people'. [One of the only elven phrases she'd known, before Ellana had started tutoring her.] Every alienage had one, so far as I know. We were told that it was a symbol of the first elven homeland. One winter when I was young, we were so bitterly cold that we had to chop it down for firewood, but small parts were preserved and carved. That's the only thing of sentimental importance I can think of that I'd dive back into a fire for.

If Korrin is rescuing me then maybe I could rescue more of my own things too, seeing as she's so strong. Or since I could get everything out that I wish to get out and then wait there for her to rescue me as she did when we met. [How very fond she sounds; she can save herself but sometimes even a capable young lady wants to be the damsel.]

You know, I never answered your question. I suppose if I kept my things in an aravel and it was on fire, I'd at least try to get out my journal. It has notes I've been taking, and it would be terrible to have to start from scratch.

It's too early to call anything about the Rifter voice unified.

We come from dozens of different worlds, wildly disparate cultures, and have very little in common with one another-- except that we aren't from Thedas. But it is better to have a voice, than otherwise, even if only myself.

[It wasn't that she viewed rifters as mages, but in the back of her mind she rationalized that people outside of the inquisition might view strangers from another world with the same fear and contempt.].
