I am a little new here, and perhaps I've missed something important, but is it common practice to lock up innocent people, for no reason? I was given to understand that this organization, this Inquisition, is meant to stand as some kind of bastion for all, a saving grace in the face of sure doom. Or is that just pretty words, to hide the truth?
[He pauses, just for a moment, but despite the lack of visual information, it has all the laser-like focus of a nun's stern disapproval. You have been found wanting, young inquisition. Shame on you.]
Seeker Cassandra Pentaghast, for those who might not have heard, seems to have decided that it is appropriate for her to act as judge, jury, and-- well, a law unto herself, concerning the behavior of Rifters. I wonder, with everything else that's happened since my arrival here, if she thinks no one has noticed.
[He means, perhaps, the issue with Anders, among other things. A good strategist knows how to use their shield; the timing wasn't the only suspect thing about all this, but it certainly seemed like a factor, to him.]
I'll get to the point: Galadriel should be freed if she's done nothing, or if she, or anyone else [Not to name names, Gavin Ashara] has done significant wrong, there should be a fair trial, open to public scrutiny. What happened here is, in my opinion, inexcusable.

[ a week, a month- it will be nothing to her, only an inconvenience. ]
You have my word. I suspect the results will not be kept silent for too long.

[Gavin Ashara, for the love of--]
I'll do my best. It's been a pleasure to meet you, and-- thank you.

[ he's certainly warmly disposed towards obi-wan, now, congratulations for making thranduil's list of 'Men worth listening to'. ] It is no matter. I look forward to discussing matters with you in the flesh.

[ Pause. ]
Um. Hi.

Thank you, my lord. Honestly, my kinsman is lucky he wasn't murdered--We've gotten killed for less. Although execution isn't out of the question yet...But we'll deal with that.
The Dalish have been trying to help, aside from Gavin's...indiscretion. However, elves have...somewhat limited power, here. You may have noticed. [ Can you feel the dryness in her tone. ]
We've been making official inquiries, which, I have just learned, have been getting...intercepted.
private ;
It is good that I am not Dalish. I have dealt with more difficult political situations. While I am anticipating some problems, I have a plan in place.
[ his tone softens. ] I need you and your clan's aid in this, however. I need restraint, despite riled tempers, for the next day or two.
[private]
Deplorable is putting it kindly. I don't know how much you already know, but I'll tell you whatever I can--And the Dalish will aid you however we can. We have shown restraint in the face of the shemlens' hatred for generations, we can wait a few more days.
But whatever happens...please be careful. I would not ask someone who owes this world nothing to die to improve it.
private ;
It is still a serious request. You have my thanks.
[ as for the other little matter: ]
I am not worried about death, child. That is not a fear of my people. Surely the lady has explained that?
no subject
[ She pauses at that. If anyone other than one of those incredible elves from Middle Earth had told her this, she would assume that he meant that his people were not afraid of death, because they were just that brave. However, she has compared Galadriel to one of the Creators in her head plenty often, to being like one of the ancient elves, stepping out of time from Arlathan itself. ]
...The Dalish say that in the times of Arlathan, elves did not age, and easily lived for thousands of years. That they had magic that came as naturally as breathing, and they lived as one with nature. But when humans came, the elves found that those who interacted with them lost their immortality, and became as short lived as the humans.
I will pray for your success. And do whatever I can to help.
