Good afternoon, Riftwatch; for those not acquainted with me, I am Madame de Cedoux.

( the accent is very nearly orlesian; close enough that one from orlais who was not themselves well traveled might wonder if they simply haven't heard this regional accent before. most people, though, are probably perfectly aware of who she is. )

I have, potentially, an opportunity that may be of interest to some of you—I merely wish to survey, before I move ahead with anything. I have been having certain items within my possession valued, for prospective sale, and in the event that there are those of you here who possess rifted items—or items of similarly unique status—that you do not wish to keep, a small auction in Hightown might be arranged.

Discreetly, and with items that have been vetted for their appropriateness to surrender into civilian hands. It would be for those surrendering such items to declare if they preferred the proceeds of the sale to go to their own purse or Riftwatch's funds, and these are arrangements that I would further oversee.

I arrived here with currency from my world. I don't think anyone would be willing to exchange for it here necessarily but maybe someone would want to collect it?

Certainly, I believe that may have some collectible value. I have an appraiser with whom I have been discussing the broad strokes of possible items—the value that you could expect it to earn would depend upon the interest it garners. I presume it is not something with sentimental value, for yourself.

I might keep one of each coin for sentimentality, but otherwise I don't mind parting with them.

Some are similar metals to coins here but the minting is different, of course. I have copper, silver, and gold coins, as well as platinum - which I haven't figured out if there's a similar metal here or not for the latter.

I'm familiar with it—I'm sure I can find out if my jeweler is, but I suspect if it is more foreign it will be all the more valuable for it. And coin collecting is not an unusual pastime here already, I understand.

They're beads, like a bracelet; made of a substance called vibranium, mostly. They used to do things but they're pretty dead here.

The value of such a thing, in the absence of significant monetary value, is in the status it will provide the buyer; some details of its history would doubtless raise that price higher.

I've some relatively rare bottles of wine a collector might fancy, and a pair of valuable but ugly vases I've had in storage for quite some time. Naturally. The main objective would be to attract people to the auction in the first place, but I will look on anything I provide to that end as a donation to the organization.

Not that I have any doubt you'll show what you have to the best effect. I only wonder about the quality of goods being volunteered.

I cannot speak to most or few, but it is not unusual to arrive with more than only what was on their person—or, indeed, for rifts to produce items independently. My hound, for example, is something of a grey area.
