NOTES: Knowing Korrin, language. That's probably it, though. And because I'm lazy, this can also be an action log.

[To say that Korrin's upset at the revelation is a vast understatement, and though her tone is even over the sending crystal, it's a forced calm. Anyone who knows her is likely well-aware of the depths of her fury, though there's been enough ranting over the crystal lately. So instead:]

Anyone else having the powerful urge to drink and vent, you're welcome to join me at the tavern. I'm buying. And just to be clear, I'm not challenging a damn thing. I just want a fucking drink, that's all.

[No ranting over the sending crystal, but she is claiming the venting corner, Merrick. Be prepared.]

Maybe they're all going to like, get together and storm the Warden Camp or something.

[Now there's a thought, and it both gave her some sense of happiness - and worry. Bruce could be out there ... ]

You know. I wonder. I wonder if they're keeping quiet because the Inquisition already stated they wouldn't take any retaliation.

[Korrin frowns in thought at that.]

True, but is it like them to just let that go? I mean, this was the guy famous for escaping the Circle countless times and they always found and dragged him back, until the Wardens. [She doesn't know they even infiltrated the Warden ranks to get at him, which is too bad since it might earn the smallest amount of sympathy.] Thedas' most wanted, and that's it? It just seems...odd.

[Katniss stopped leaning for a moment, before her eyebrows raised together.]

... You know, you're right. It's not like this to let things go. Especially just - sitting there in silence.

[Now she looks concerned]

I was just joking before, but do you think they'd actually do that? Storm the Warden camp?

...not all of them, no. I'm reluctant to give them more than the barest credit, but some have brains enough to realize that they need the Inquisition as much as the Inquisition needs them. Storming the Warden camp would put an end to that, at least if they did it as a whole. But there are still hardline idiots would might give it a try.

[She doesn't see the point in warning the Wardens, though. They have to be on full alert for anything, by now. Shrugging, she takes another swig.]

Well ... That is comforting. Sort of. [Katniss murmured, shaking her head a little bit.] A fight between the Wardens and the Templars would do nothing for us.

It sure wouldn't be the fight any thought would happen with Templars involved, that's for sure.

[She frowns sharply.] There's one in particular that might do it, though. Cade snapped and almost killed Beleth, back in Emprise du Lion. They haven't even imprisoned him for it. What's to stop him from doing the same at Anders?

[Katniss blinks, then blinks again, before anger flashes over her face.]

I'm sorry - what?

[Now this was something she had been too busy to hear about. She only knew Beleth from rogue school and passing, but a Templar attacked her? She'd heard some rumor that a Templar had snapped, but not on whom ...]

I ... am honestly surprised he's still alive. The Dalish are very good at killing someone without anyone noticing. He should be hanging upside down in a damned tree.

He probably isn't only because everyone would know who'd done it and then there'd be a backlash against the Dalish. But I agree. He's another primed gaatlok barrel and we've seen that; not executing him or putting him in a dungeon is a slap on the wrist. It figures they'd shield their own, but that the Inquisition at large would let them get away with it....

What does Beleth say? I can't believe the Inquisition wouldn't at least ask her what she thought should happen to the asshole who assaulted her.

[There was no way that Cullen didn't consider what happened with that. She wasn't sure what to think of the Seekers or the Templars - nothing good - but the Inquisition?]

[Korrin sighs and shrugs.]

I don't know; I haven't seen much of her since she told me about it. The only reason I didn't go and punch Cade into the ground is because she made me promise not to exact revenge. Had I known they wouldn't even jail him, though, I might have broken that promise.

But honestly, I doubt she's thrilled that he's still walking around, even weaponless.

[Katniss frowned even more, before she sighed softly as she took another drink.]

Well, he won't last long. Sooner or later, someone is going to accidentally push him off a rampart.

[Korrin raises her drink at that, a soft huff escaping.]

I won't mourn the twitchy ass, though it'd better happen in such a way as to make a martyr out of him. I won't the Templars use him as an excuse to lash out at us, whichever 'us' that might be.

[Elves, mages, whatever. The only ones that might as well stand in their own right now are the Grey Wardens.]

You know, next time I'm assigned anywhere, I think it's come to insist on my own tent. Last time I had to deal with him. Though I'll admit, it was pretty funny for him to catch me changing and then flee like his ass was on fire. I just don't need a repeat.

Oh no, complete and stupid accident. I know Beleth's friends.

[If Cade died, no one would think murder, that much was clear.]

I had my own tent. Just tell the quartermaster you have horrific nightmares and you don't want to scare anyone.

[Which sounds like a convenient lie, but it's not. As Korrin well knows.]

I know them too, but you're forgetting about Merrick. He's...not subtle.

[And the only reason Cade isn't dead and Merrick in the dungeons is because the latter probably doesn't know. Hopefully, it'll stay that way.]

Nightmares...I could do that. Or just point out that my size makes sharing difficult. Not exactly true when I want to share with someone so tiny, but whatever.

[She raises an eyebrow, hardly in the best mindset to give advice, but that comment reminds her.]

Do I need to give you maraas-lok to knock the nightmares out of you again?

... Oh Creaters, Merrick. Right, well, I'm not telling him.

[She made a face that was somewhere between sheepish and grim.]

See, there you have it. Good excuses are plentiful.

[A pause, there, before she shook her head a little.]

Not ... yet.

I won't tell him either, trust me.

[Korrin won't blame him for acting out if he does learn of such news, but she's not going to be the one to kick off that disaster. She eyes Katniss for a moment before nodding.]

If you change your mind, I should get a new batch within the month. I told them there's no need to cover half of Skyhold, but there should still be enough to share.

Someone will tell him though, and we should keep an eye out for him.

[She looked over at Korrin, her lips twisting.]

I can't blame him. But I can't hold both you and Merrick down. I'm not that flexible.

[A more serious look flashed across her face.

I will let you know. Right now ... I'm trying to keep myself low on meds.

[Korrin nods, understanding for all that she's eager to find a way to help.]

I wouldn't exactly call that stuff 'medicine', but fair enough. You know what you need. If you can pull through with something else -or nothing at all- it's your decision. I'm not here to mother anyone.

...I'd be a terrible one anyway, suggesting strong liquor as a first resort.

[She looked up at Korrin, before she snorted softly.]

Yeah ... I wouldn't really call this the reaction of a motherly type, Korrin. Liquor doesn't solve all of our problems. Just dulls them for awhile.

[Slouching back in her seat, Korrin lets out a frustrated sigh.]

Sometimes that's all you can hope for, you know? When there's terrible options all around, pick the one that will kick your ass the least.

Well, considering that your options right now are going down and getting your ass kicked by fourteen Grey Wardens ... drinking really is higher up on the survival link. So with that in mind.

[Katniss waved her hand, to get the bartender to bring Korrin another round.]

[Chuckling faintly at that, Korrin smirks tiredly.]

You're a lifesaver, Katniss.

Yeah, don't let that spread around. People will start thinking I'm some sort of hero. Heroes don't seem to last long around here.

[Was Katniss's wry response, as she finished off her own drink and ordered another.]

[Her thoughts turning to the Herald, Korrin nods grimly.]

Good point. I'll keep the beer fairy to myself while I can.
