FORM: Sending Crystal
SENDER: Cyril Ashara
RECIPIENT: Locked to all elves and elf-blooded - not just the Dalish, anyone with elf blood is included.
WHAT: Cyril wants to talk about Galadriel.
WHEN: A couple of days after Galadriel's imprisonment.
WHERE: Skyhold. Cyril is broadcasting from his and Merrick's room. Merrick is around in the background while Cyril talks, so you can assume he's open to thread jump when needed.
NOTES: This is basically that whole bit of the Civil War plot where the Dalish are super pissed off about Galadriel being tossed in jail. Cyril wants the opinion of others so they can put together a formal request for Galadriel's release. - Now in the right com!

Aneth ara.
Some of you know me, others may not. My name is Cyril, of Clan Ashara. I'm sending this message to all within the Inquisition who have the blood of Our People because I feel we should each have a say in this matter.
An elvhen woman named Galadriel has been imprisoned for refusing to pledge herself to the Inquisition. If you have not met Galadriel... [He trails off for a moment here, as if considering his words carefully.]
She is all that we have lost.
[Then, another pause, as he realizes that's not the best way to get city elves on his side.]
If you have not had the pleasure of speaking with her, I highly suggest it.
Either way, the thought that an elf can be tossed into a cell for refusing to agree to pledge themselves to a human religious organization is unsettling.
Many of us are here because we've done just that, because we realize the Inquisition is the best chance we have to restoring Order to the world, but the fact that this has happened to an elvhen woman is [One more pause, as he doesn't want to curse here.] ... extremely troubling.
I propose that we formerly request that Galadriel be released immediately. She is not a threat and whatever suspicion the Right Hand holds against the Rifters should be handled in a mature manner, not by throwing an innocent woman in prison for daring to refuse to submit.
I want to welcome your opinions as all of us will be face the consequences of such a request, most humans do have trouble telling us apart after all. [And that's meant to be more of a joke, perhaps poorly timed.]

I want the opinions of any one who might be affected by the assumption that all elves or elf blooded people think alike. Especially if there is a dissenting voice among us.

That's a round about way of saying like you assume we all think alike first, Dalish. And what's the elf-blooded shems here got to do with any of this?

[A slight pause, as he considers how to word this.] Any time a group of elves do something we should pause and consider the fact that we are easily grouped together and judged as a whole for that action. I included anyone who might be grouped together with the rest of us to get their opinions and to consider those opinions. My personal emotional response to this event should not endanger others, especially if they disagree with me. I wanted to reach out as a heads up as much as a request for input.
If you feel that that doesn't apply to you, I apologize for the inconvenience of including you, but I'd much rather hear what you have to say than assume that we all agree on this.
Especially if you disagree with me.

If you believe so, then you will make this a Dalish matter. City-dwellers have lost nothing that can be found in your Rifter.

You're right that that was a very poor word choice. [Even after he said that bit about what was lost, he had known it was the wrong way to try to describe why he feels so personally offended by what has happened. And he had realized city dwellers wouldn't respond well. He does honestly feel concerned that he offended her.] And I know that city-dwellers have a lot of good reasons to distrust the way that we Dalish look to the past too.
Also, thank you for your questions. They can give us things to consider.
However, I do think that there is something to be examined about the harshness of her punishment. She may be a Rifter but I don't think the average person will care to separate Rifter elves from those who came from Thedas. The fact that a woman who is an elf has been thrown into jail without having done anything wrong is something that makes me wary. It sets a bad precedent, especially while violent humans are allowed to walk free.
I'd at least want them to be forthcoming about why this has happened to her. If for no other reason than to reassure the rest of us that it's not so easy to become the Inquisition's prisoner.

[ Hff hff. He is being polite, but she has teeth, looking for something to bite down on. ]
You demand justice for humans of equivalent violence, you will not get it. They cry that this Anders man be brought to justice for the murder of innocent lives, and Empress Celene sits in her castle while there is still ash in the air of Halamshiral.
You wish for justice and fairness, Dalish, when perhaps you ought to take it.
(helping)
[ He is not storming the dungeon. He doesn't care about rifters or people who add that H to elven. But it would be funny to watch all these bright-eyed (he doesn't have to be able to see them, their eyes are bright, he knows) idealists get thrown down the mountainside. ]

[He switches to private after that.]
How are you? How's the - ah - hand?
private.
What allies?
Re: private.
The elf-blooded humans. I don't know all of them, but I know a few. And I know a lot of them hold our concerns, too. [However he might sound a little hesitant about that.]
In the end it doesn't matter who hears it - everyone will know.
... Does it hurt?
private.
Allies for now. For sometimes, when it suits them.
... Non. Not now, anymore.
